The smaller the room, the more every detail matters.

Boutique events -- intimate dinners, leadership offsites, investor gatherings -- are some of the most technically demanding productions in the business. Exposed cables. Unpredictable acoustics. No rigging. And an audience close enough to notice every imperfection.

Most production companies scale down. The right ones know the difference between simply scaling down and strategically adjusting down.

We break it all down in our latest post.

Boutique AV demands more precision, not less. Here’s why intimate venues are some of the most technically demanding productions.

Thirty-five years in event production teaches you a lot. The technology is unrecognizable. Yet, the fundamentals haven't moved an inch. We write about both. https://bit.ly/4fKeMbx

Private equity has been quietly buying up the event production industry — and most planners haven't noticed. Nor are they prepared for what’s next.

One company now controls in-house AV at over 2,200 venues worldwide. The same financial firm also owns the event management platform tens of thousands of planners use every day.

This isn't organic growth driven by better service. It's financially engineered consolidation designed to generate returns for investors.

What does that mean for your events?

→ Fewer real choices at hotel venues
→ Standardized packages that prioritize margins over your goals
→ Pricing leverage that favors the house — not you

Smart planners are getting competitive bids, auditing their vendor mix, and building independent relationships now — while they still can.

We've been producing events independently for 35 years. We think our perspective is worth sharing.

Still treating LED as just a background screen? That's leaving a lot of impact on the table.

The Event Production Network (Stage Right, Inc., is a member) just published a great breakdown of how LED is evolving from a visual add-on into the foundation of live event design, including curved environments, hybrid-ready performance, and content systems built for the canvas.

The biggest lesson? The technology rarely fails. The planning does.

Worth a read for any event planner, AV pro, or experience designer heading into a big production season. Read more at https://bit.ly/3QIF43F .

LED technology has rapidly transformed live events, delivering vibrant visual solutions that elevate ambiance, increase engagement and create unforgettable moments. But the most important shift isn’t simply “bigger, brighter screens.” It’s how LED is changing the very language of event desig...

Counterintuitive take: AI is making your live events MORE important, not LESS.

When routine communication gets automated, every touchpoint becomes less differentiating. What cuts through?

A room.

Where people show up.

Together.

That’s where AI can’t tread. No algorithm replicates the immediacy, energy and presence of a live event.

Read our take on this. More at https://bit.ly/4ufElVX

As AI handles more of corporate communication, live events become your most valuable asset. Here's what that means for production standards.

AI is everywhere. In the event space, many vendors are pushing AI in their products and workflow. It does work for scheduling, logistics, and personalization. But event design? AI can generate a stage layout concept in seconds. What it can’t do is design an emotional experience. Fellow Event Production Network member AVFX pulls the curtain back on what AI is good for… and what it’s not. Bottom line: producing great events still comes down to thoughtful design, storytelling, and production craft. We agree.

Real. It’s what 58% of Gen Z and Millennial attendees say they want events to feel like, according to Eventbrite’s Social Study. It also revealed that 49% wish events felt less curated and more one of a kind.

While the event industry is spending more on production than ever, maybe the adage “less is more” applies. Less polish and fewer elements could end up enhancing clarity and effectiveness.

All this is not a slap at great production. It's a redefinition of what great means. The five trends Eventbrite identifies (off-script energy, soft socializing, participatory design, hyperlocal experiences, and genre-blending mashups) all point to the same thing: People want to feel something genuine. What's the most "real" event experience you've had recently?

In event production, there’s no standing still. Audiences demand more. Hybrid formats are more complex. Staying relevant means continuous reinvestment in the tools that make shows run smoothly. This is routine at Stage Right, Inc. We recently added loudspeakers, digital mixers, LED posters, and projectors to better serve corporate clients and professional associations at everything from town halls to large-scale conferences. https://bit.ly/4bEV6n4

Stage Right, Inc. stays ahead in event production with continuous new equipment upgrades to deliver reliable, flexible, high-quality events.
