Our condolences for the family of Ben Arnet, as well as his many colleagues at KOMU Channel 8 and the University of Missouri School of Journalism..

KOMO Channel 8 sports anchor Ben Arnet has died. The station made the announcement Thursday night. Mr. Arnet not only was Channel 8 sportscaster but also was a teacher at the University of Missouri School of Journamlism.

Ben Arnet was 43.

Morning Sports Report 8/28/25

Tonight's Missouri football game at home is a sellout so sit wherever and listen to it here (or sister station KXEO) beginning with the pre-game show at 4:30, the kickoff is at 6:30. If you're lucky enough to have a ticket - don't rush the field after a game win! SEC schools are now subject to a a half-million dollar fine for a first offense, and the visitors might the reap fine. Home teams must allow 3 minutes after the game for teams and referees to get off the field, rush the field less than 3 minutes after it ends, and schools will hear from the league office and be fined.

By the way, to recognize the Kansas rivalry, check out the Jumbotron, you'll see a clock counting down the days and time to the Jayhawks game.

Kansas City, behind 1-0 in the 5th, scored a dozen runs and bombed the Chicago White Sox 12-1 win. Salvador Perez and Mike Yastremski both homered and Ryan Bergert picked up just his second career major league win in the victory.

The St. Louis Cardinals not as lucking, losing 2-1, only getting 4 hits. Cards-Pirates after an afternoon game, on 1340 KXEO, we carry it the pre-game begins at 11;15.

The high school football season kicks off Frodau at schools across the state, and on 1340 KXEO, we'll start our 2025 season with the annual rivalry game between Mexico and Centralia.
