Tomorrow's the day! Each of Meyersdale's seven churches will be open for viewing in celebration of the Christmas season.
The Meyersdale Community Church Tour will begin at 11 a.m. at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church. The tours will run through 4:15 p.m., with approximately 30 minutes spent at each church and 15 minutes allowed for travel between them.
The following tour rotation schedule has been set for the day:
- Sts. Philip & James Catholic Church, High Street (top of Center Street) - 11:00 - 11:45
- Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner of Center & Broadway streets - 11:45 - 12:30
- Amity United Church of Christ, corner of Center & North streets - 12:30 - 1:15
- Cornerstone Apostolic Church, Main Street - 1:15 - 2:00
- Main Street Brethren Church - 2:00 - 2:45
- Grace Brethren Church, Beachley Street - 2:45 - 3:30
- Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, corner of Beachley & Keystone streets - 3:30 - 4:15
The Meyersdale Church of the Brethren - pictured here - will provide their church van/bus to take anyone who needs a ride from one house of worship to the next. The tour is free, but those who wish are encouraged to donate nonperishable items toward the Casselman Valley Helpers Community Food Pantry. Donations will be collected at each church.
If you still don't have one, drop by our library for a tour brochure!
PLEASE NOTE: Anyone wishing to utilize the Church of the Brethren's van to travel from church to church should plan on meeting the van at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church at the top of Center Street, as this church is the first on the tour. Please do not travel to the Church of the Brethren expecting to catch the van in the morning, as that church's parking lot will be very busy Saturday morning due to the visiting Somerset County Mobile Food Bank.
