The word is out!

Remember what it felt like to be on your way to high school? Back in my day it started in 10th grade.

Now 14-year olds begin high school in 9th grade and if you know anything about how teens’ frontal lobes are still developing, you might understand why I still scratch my head about this decision even though it’s been in place for a minute, but I digress.

Not only do they start a year earlier, but now they’re grappling with soooo many distractions. Social media, video games, reality show mentality, cancel culture, bullying, celebrity-mania, etc. all has them feeling lost without really understanding why.

Many put up a tough bravado but inside, they need guidance that none of the above can provide.

That’s why I created 829 Rising. Mindful of their attention span, it’s now a 45-minute digital workshop they can participate in from the comfort of their home.

And because it’s a solo experience, they can really hear and absorb the content that most resonates with them.

It plants some pretty powerful seeds, like:

🔆 It’s far easier to maintain a good GPA than it is trying to improve a poor one

🔆 Self-regulating their social media use helps them control IT, instead of IT controlling them

🔆Creating a study schedule and style based on their personality helps them stick with it

🔆 Guided meditation introduces them to their inner power and builds resilience

Ultimately, 829 RISING helps them understand that the habits they establish now determine how they navigate 9th grade and the rest of their high school experience, but they also set the tone for how they handle adulthood beyond graduation.

This is a story about never giving up. About KNOWING your talent is meant to be shared with the world.

About feeling timeless and being reinvigorated by your own amazing voice, your own music, your own vibe.

This is the story of three AMAZING souls who came together to make beautiful music, sharing it and then being steadfast in their patience for sharing it in an even larger way.

That time is now.

Because KNOWING your talent is meant to be shared means listening to what SOURCE has to say and acting on its guidance.

These three beautiful men make beautiful music and the world is now ready to receive it.

“That’s My Life” is one of those songs that seeps into your consciousness and reminds you of that lost love.

That love that felt like forever but ended unexpectedly, revealing aspects of yourself it, and only it, could reveal.

It’s a song that goes deeper with each listen.

It’s available on all the streaming platforms and is experienced best with your favorite beverage, blasting through a speaker, taking you back to that moment.

Please let this marinate.

It’s easy to accept if you have/had a great father.

It’s even more powerful to accept if you don’t/didn’t.

Sometimes when we’re on our forgiveness journey, we get so immersed in what’s wrong that we lose sight of what’s right.

Our fathers are human beings and finding at least one thing we are grateful for about them can bring refreshing energy into the daddy dynamic.

What are you grateful for about your daddy?

I’ll go first:

I’m grateful that my daddy made profanity an art form and came up with some of the most hilarious quips!! (Unass me! - was one that meant if you knew what’s good for you, you’d leave me alone)

Soft launches and sneak peeks are essential and extremely informative.

Thanks to your feedback and GOD’s confirmation, we’ve changed the name of our new publication to Black Fatherhood Magazine.

It more accurately reflects the focus of the magazine and from a marketing standpoint, is far easier to explain. It actually needs no explanation - the name says it all - we love Black Fatherhood!

The magazine will include the same amazing content that celebrates Black fathers, spotlights girl dads, features “Daddy’s girls,” successful women whose fathers were/are the wind beneath their wings), as well as Black fathers who became the fathers they wish they’d had.

Black Fatherhood Magazine will also encourage Black fathers who want to be better versions of themselves by making our pages safe spaces that promote healing, forgiveness and reconciliation.

There’s a growing synergy around Black fatherhood and we are thrilled to add our voice to such an important role.

Click the link in our bio to subscribe to be sure to receive the inaugural edition.

Our cover story for the sneak peek really captures the beauty of being a girl dad. has two lovely daughters and spills the tea on what it’s like to parent two very different personalities.

The preview edition also covers the Kirk Franklin documentary - a riveting 35 minute journey to discover his biological father.
