I found myself in a bottle... Some people don't isolate themselves to stop connecting with others.
They isolate themselves because they got tired of living trying to be enough for everyone.
At first, it doesn't feel like a sanctuary. It feels like a defeat. A bottle where you can barely breathe, a silence that scares you, a distance that others mistake for coldness. But nobody sees what happened before the cork was put in.
Nobody saw the years spent rowing toward harbors they never chose. Nobody heard the weight of those phrases disguised as advice: "You should do more." "You should change." "You'll never get far that way."
Little by little, they stop being someone else's opinions and turn into chains you end up dragging around as if they were your own.
Life and its mysteries... a day comes, that day when you realize the greatest exhaustion doesn't come from fighting the world, but from fighting every single day against a version of yourself created just to not disappoint.
And you choose to disappear for a while.
Not to punish anyone else.
Not to get attention.
But to listen to a voice that had been buried way too long under the applause, the demands, and the expectations of others.
From the outside, that bottle looks like a prison.
From the inside, for the first time, it feels like a sanctuary...
Because isolation stops being an escape when you realize you're not running away from people, but from the characters you built just to be accepted.
And... you discover that true freedom isn't about opening the bottle as fast as possible.
It's about not walking back out turned into someone you no longer are.
Because there are sanctuaries that aren't born out of fear.
They're born out of the deep desire to find yourself again.
I don't know... if you ever needed to get away from everything just to remember who you were before you tried to live up to everyone else's expectations...
