I'M A SINGLE DAD OF TWO GIRLS – WOKE UP TO PREPARE BREAKFAST FOR MY DAUGHTERS & FOUND IT ALREADY COOKED
I'm a single dad to two little girls, 4 and 5 years old. My wife left us to travel the world. Being a single dad is tough because, besides working, I have to cook, take them to daycare, and take care of them at home. They mean the world to me, but I'm often wiped out.
Recently, I woke up as usual, got my daughters dressed, and went to the kitchen to pour milk over their oatmeal. Imagine my surprise when I saw three plates of freshly made pancakes with jam and fruit waiting for us on the table. Worried, I checked the house for any uninvited guests and called my relatives to see if they had stopped by.
To my astonishment, I found no one at home, and all my relatives said they hadn't come over that morning. Puzzled, I hurried off to work. I tasted the pancakes before giving them to the kids, and they were fine. We had breakfast, and I took them to daycare.

HOW I MESSED UP BY THROWING A STEAK OUT A WINDOW: A HILARIOUS "I CAN EXPLAIN" STORY.
Last night, my wife's boss from her brand new job invited us over for dinner. On the drive over, my wife reiterated many times to me just how important it was to make a good impression. I scoffed and arrogantly informed my silly wife that I always make good impressions. Oh boy… My wife's boss is a single lady in her fifties, so it was just the three of us. Soon she brought out the main course, a nice big juicy steak for each of us. As I began to cut into my steak, I was discouraged to discover how undercooked it was.
Now, I've had my fair share of rare steak. I prefer medium, but I can handle rare. This was several-minutes-on-a-hot-grill sort of rare. I probably could've resuscitated the cow had I tried. Instead, I sat there fidgeting with my knife and fork, worrying about how I was going to get away with not eating this steak. Claim veganism? No, I'd already feigned great enthusiasm upon seeing the steak.
Just then, our hostess excused herself to the kitchen to take care of some dessert preparations. As I looked across the fancy dining room table at the open window of this 3rd story apartment... a cartoon light bulb appeared over my head.

SOMEONE HACKED MY CREDIT CARD — TWO DAYS LATER, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT SHOCKED ME TO THE CORE.
So, it all kicked off on a regular Wednesday night. I'd just finished dinner and was mindlessly scrolling through Netflix when I got this alert from my bank. "Unusual activity detected on your credit card," it said.
I opened the app, and my heart dropped. There were charges I didn't recognize: $200 on some gaming site, $50 at a gas station two states over, and the worst of all — $1,000 for a flight to Paris. Paris? I haven't been near an airport in ages.
I immediately called my bank. Listening to that cheesy elevator music felt like an eternity. When I finally got through, the rep was nice but not super helpful. "We'll investigate and get back to you," she said. Great, just great.
