So … I am chuffed to relate that …. I am now show running Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Protecting The Wild on NBC. It’s an absolutely terrific show which is one of very few network TV series devoted to animals, nature, the environment … and people who are helping to protect animals them, but is also rating extremely well. And whaddya know? it’s also getting some industry love with 4 Daytime Emmy nominations. Great credit and thanks to the whole production team, everyone at Hearst Media Production Group, of course our terrific partners Mutual Of Omaha … and to the audience for proving that these stories really resonate.

We had the opportunity to work with Dr. Mireya Mayor earlier this year and were absolutely blown away by her knowledge, experience, and passion for discovery. We truly believe that all of our Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Conference regulars will love her presentation and become fans for life after having the opportunity to see and meet with her at this year's event.

If you are unfamiliar with Dr. Meyor... besides currently starring in Travel Channel’s hit series, Expedition Bigfoot, she is a world-renowned primatologist and explorer, an award-winning TV host, and a recognized science communicator. As National Geographic’s first female wildlife correspondent, Mireya has hosted dozens of documentaries, including her own Nat Geo Wild! series Wild Nights with Mireya Mayor and Mark Burnett’s Expedition Africa for History Channel.

But the former NFL cheerleader, daughter of Cuban immigrants, and mother of six is not your typical scientist. Mireya is known for exploring the most remote regions of the earth in search of elusive, rare, and little-known animals. Her explorations have led to several scientific discoveries, most notably her co-discovery in Madagascar of the world’s smallest primate, a brand new species to science.
In addition to her regular TV appearances, Dr. Mayor is also the Director of Exploration and Science Communications at Florida International University (FIU) and regularly gives lectures around the country for the National Geographic Speakers Bureau.

From me and Two Wise Monkeys Entertainment co-production partner Mike Kemp of Nutshell TV, pictured here earlier today in Angkor Wat, Cambodia on our final day of shooting of Cher’s extraordinary mission to rescue Kaavan. He was the world’s loneliest elephant in Islamabad zoo in Pakistan but now after Cher organized an amazing airlift for him to new forever home at the beautiful Cambodia Wildlife Sanctuary he’s socializing with other elephants . Cher’s Elephant Airlift is an astounding, bold and beautiful story and we’re proud to bring it to Smithsonian Channel.

What a week. Excited to share the news about my wonderful wife Mireya Mayor’s new TV series Expedition Bigfoot. Season 2 kicks off on Travel Channel, January 3. As you’ll discover Mireya is a badass explorer, going where many, or should I say MENY? fear to tread and finds a terrific way to communicate science in unlikely places. She is also the wiser partner in our company Two Wise Monkeys Entertainment, for which this is proving to be a BIG week.

Busy week for Two Wise Monkeys. The final episode of our series Dying To Be Famous, goes out tonight at 9pm on Bounce TV. Later to be aired on Court TV and Court TV Mystery. Episode 6 is a cracker. Lots of people to thank for this series, but in particular show-runner extrordinaire, John La Rose without whom this series would not have made air or be nearly as good. Accomplished with JLR’s consumate professional fire, good humor and a few fingers of scotch. We are closer to solving this mystery, but hoping to have more episodes.

Operation Cher’s Elephant Airlift is underway.
The one-and-only Cher who organized this incredible operation with her foundation after The Wild is in Pakistan ready for tomorrow’s HUGE day when Kaavan the world’s loneliest elephant takes off for Cambodia. It will be an extraordinary operation.
Two Wise Monkeys is delighted to be bringing this amazing story to the Smithsonian Channel and to the rest of the world with Terra Mater Factual Studios.

Can’t say enough good things about Cher and her team at Free The Wild. We are thrilled to partner with Cher, Jen Ruiz, Mark Cowne, Gina Nelthorpe Cowne on their incredible journey to fly Kaavan, the world’s loneliest elephant, from his sad life at Islamabad Zoo in Pakistan to a wonderful new, specially constructed, enclosure at the gorgeous Elephant Nature Park in Cambodia.
