do you shave your armpits? have you ever felt shame towards your armpit hair? have you ever been called disgusting because of it? told you need to remove it? had your life threatened over your armpit hair?

i have been posting photos on social media displaying armpit hair now for 4 years and the first few years of doing it would make me cry almost every time. i was scared for my life on many occasions because of the hate i was receiving.

before i shaved i used to pose with my arms up regularly without anyone ever commenting on my armpits... not one single comment. now my armpits are mentioned on every post even if i’m not showing them.

when i lost my instagram account in 2019 i also lost the connection to that hate i was receiving and after a while i forgot it even existed. i just assumed the world had woken up to the reality of armpit hair... not actually being a big deal?

when i returned to the modelling industry full time at the start of the pandemic i was reminded how much hate there was towards a woman’s natural body. I have learnt not to argue with them anymore, not to prove them wrong and just to use it to grow because every hate comment increases the exposure of my posts.

i hope every time my photos reach audiences that aren’t used to seeing armpit hair on women it opens at least 1 mind. women were not born to be hairless and smooth like dolphins they were born to be hairy - everywhere

if algorithms didn’t reward the 1-3x a day uploading and silence the voices of those that don’t take part in that daily grind... you would see a completely different side of me and so many others 💭
