I’m honored to share that I’ve been named a finalist in three categories for the 2025 Florida Press Club Excellence in Journalism Competition — Multimedia Presentation, Food Writing, and Travel & Tourism Writing.

I’m really grateful to the editors, colleagues and sources who’ve trusted me with their stories this year, and to the South Florida Business Journal team for the support that makes this work possible.

Journalism can be a grind, but moments like this are a reminder of why I love what I do — the reporting, the people, the late nights, the storytelling.

Congratulations to all of the finalists across the state. Looking forward to celebrating in January.

It’s not every day you meet people who flew across the country — or even the world — for a business conference.

At the sold-out America Business Forum in Miami, I spoke with founders, students and CEOs about why they came and what they learned from speakers like Jeff Bezos, Lionel Messi and President Donald Trump. Their energy and insight made this story one of my favorites to tell.

The extended interviews are now live on the South Florida Business Journal’s YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdRE4XJY4AGUAnq2-VJnVa_Lyx4_lU6HC

Had the chance to cover the sold-out America Business Forum in Miami for the South Florida Business Journal. I spoke with attendees about the lessons they’re taking back to their businesses. Here’s what they shared. 👇🏽

ServiceNow is bringing a regional headquarters to West Palm Beach at Related Ross’ development at 10 CityPlace — a project expected to create thousands of jobs and launch an AI institute to train the next generation of talent.

Company leaders say the move will help position South Florida as a growing hub for technology and innovation.

🎥 Hear from ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott, Related Ross Chairman & CEO Stephen Ross, and Governor Ron DeSantis on what this expansion means for the region.

Grateful to the team at Olympia Pharmaceuticals and CEO Mark Mikhael for taking the time to have such an informative and enjoyable conversation about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s newly introduced “green list.”

My latest for the South Florida Business Journal looks at how this import alert could shape supply chains and compliance for compounding facilities and the providers that rely on them in South Florida.

An FDA import alert adds new scrutiny to the GLP-1 supply chain, leaving South Florida pharmacies and providers watching closely.

It’s been a whirlwind weekend…

You might remember back in July, I shared that I was named an honoree in two beat reporting categories for the Sunshine State Awards — Business & Consumer Affairs and Lifestyle & Trends. On Saturday night, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that both entries earned first place in the SPJ Florida competition.

I’m no stranger to putting in hard work, but these stories truly stretched me as a journalist: from investigating the compounded GLP-1 weight loss injection market and its impact on businesses and consumers in the region (along with FDA regulatory hurdles and big pharma’s ire), to examining how luxury designer brands are reshaping South Florida’s malls with recent wealth migrations. Each took weeks and, in some cases, months of sourcing, research and writing. To have these pieces, among others in the collection, recognized at this level is an emotional moment for me.

Growing up in the South Bronx, I don’t know if I could’ve imagined my life being what it is now when I chose this career path my senior year of high school. I’ve always been an academic passionate about the arts, and while it hasn’t been a straight journey into the news bubble — with plenty of snags, detours and rejections — this feels like everything has come full circle.

I’m really proud to share this one. More than a year ago, I noticed a shift starting to happen—and now it’s here. From pitch to publication, this story was a long time coming, but worth every step. Persistence pays off when you spot the trend before it takes off. 👀🤖

I recently completed “Prompt Engineering 101 for Journalists,” a four-week course from the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas that helped demystify how AI-powered large language models like ChatGPT (among others) can support reporting, research and storytelling.
The course broke down how to write better prompts—ones that actually get you useful results—and how to build templates for tasks like fact-checking, summarizing and backgrounding sources. We also explored how to connect these tools with no-code automation platforms to cut down on repetitive work and free up more time for actual journalism.
One of the most eye-opening parts was learning how to use AI responsibly—from understanding its limits to generating text, tables and images ethically while also being transparent about when and how these tools are used.
AI is evolving quickly, and it’s not always easy to keep up with. This course offered a solid, practical foundation for using these tools thoughtfully in a high-volume newsroom setting. Big thanks to the Knight Center for putting it together.

I’m honored to be named a finalist in two categories for the Society for Professional Journalism Florida’s 2025 Sunshine State Awards:

🏆 Beat Reporting – Business & Consumer Affairs
🏆 Beat Reporting – Lifestyle & Trends

As a New York native who moved to Miami in 2021, it’s especially meaningful to have my work evaluated by out‑of‑state journalists—thank you to the judges for this recognition. I’m passionate about telling stories that reflect the business and lifestyle landscape of South Florida and beyond. I’m grateful for the opportunity to tell stories that matter—and to be distinguished among such talented peers. It’s an incredible feeling to be acknowledged for work that reflects the region I now call home.

Winners will be announced on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale.

I recently joined my colleagues Brian Bandell and Ashley Portero on the "Business Breakdown" podcast to weigh in on some of South Florida’s most notable real estate moves — including which of three major transactions deserved the title “Deal of the Week.”

From an $88 million retail center sale in Doral to a shuttered Sears store in Boca Raton and a luxury tower in Downtown West Palm, we break down the numbers, strategy and impact. Light spoiler: This is the first time we all agreed.

In this episode, you'll also hear from Grant Cardone, who shares why he believes in going “10X” on both Bitcoin and South Florida real estate.

🎧 Listen here: https://www.bizjournals.com/southflorida/news/2025/06/23/grant-cardone-10x-bitcoin-real-estate-miami.html

The CEO of Cardone Capital discusses how a popular cryptocurrency is reshaping his approach to multimillion-dollar property deals.
