IMPORTANT FLORIDA UPDATE:

No SNAP benefits for November but EBT Cards Will Still Work

If you still have unused SNAP benefits from October or earlier, your EBT card will continue to work in November.

No new November benefits will be issued unless the government reopens, so if you can, try to save what you can this month and stretch it out.

You can check your balance anytime at ebtEDGE.com.

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: The November Food & Thanksgiving Assistance form is now closed.

We received 448 requests for help, and so far, 30 donor sign-ups. I’ll start pairing donors with families today, but we still need 15–20 more donors to reach more people in need.

If you can cover groceries or a Thanksgiving meal for a small family or individual, please sign up here:

Donors can send groceries or meals directly to recipients.

Let’s get this done by the end of the day!

USDA’s own shutdown plan (Sept 30, 2025) stated that multi-year contingency funds, approved by Congress, are available to continue SNAP benefits during a government shutdown.

That document has since been removed from USDA’s website. The White House now says it won’t authorize the very funding Congress already approved.

Contact your Representatives and demand they ensure this funding is used as intended.

🚨 Thanksgiving Meal Sign-Up Opening Early

Because of the federal shutdown, Florida SNAP benefits for November are in jeopardy, and families who rely on them could go weeks without food assistance.

That’s why I’m opening the Thanksgiving Meal sign-up early this year.

Given the level of need, I’ll require proof of current SNAP benefits to ensure help reaches those directly affected. Seniors and veterans will be prioritized.

We’re not waiting on Washington to do the right thing . Let’s step up for each other, like we’ve always done.

If you’d like to help, I’ll be sharing a link to donate directly, and a sign-up for those who prefer to order and send meals straight to recipients.

🚨 BREAKING: Florida SNAP benefits for November

Because of the ongoing federal government shutdown, November SNAP benefits will not be issued unless federal funding is restored (government reopens).

That means if the shutdown continues, no EBT deposits in November, even if you’ve already been approved or received notices about your benefits. Florida Department of Children and Families has confirmed this and posted on their site: https://snap.myflfamilies.com

It gets worse: if a storm or natural disaster hits while the government is shut down, Florida will not receive Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) either.

If you rely on SNAP, turn on notifications for this post and my page as I will be posting regularly.

This is yet another consequence of Washington’s dysfunction, hurting the people who can least afford it, all so politicians can keep playing party games.

These fine ladies ride in from Maryland every day to read the Constitution whole tourists and others visit the White House. Happy to have caught them before heading home.
