La noche del 30 de diciembre de 1999, la paz de George Harrison terminó de forma brutal. Un hombre con esquizofrenia paranoide llamado Michael Abram saltó la valla de su mansión en Friar Park, convencido de que los Beatles eran brujos y que debía matar a George por "misión divina".

El álbum debut de Boston (1976) es uno de los discos con mejor sonido de la historia, famoso por sus guitarras pulidas y producción masiva. La discográfica Epic Records creía que estaba pagando por una superproducción en un estudio profesional de alta tecnología con un equipo de ingenieros.

La realidad era muy distinta. Tom Scholz, el guitarrista y líder, era un ingeniero del MIT que trabajaba en Polaroid. Obsesivo con el sonido, grabó casi todo el álbum en el sótano de su casa en Massachusetts, utilizando equipos que él mismo había construido o modificado para lograr esos sonidos de guitarra únicos. Scholz engañó a los ejecutivos haciéndoles creer que la banda estaba grabando en un estudio real.

Cuando los ejecutivos finalmente escucharon las cintas maestras de "More Than a Feeling", quedaron asombrados. El disco vendió 17 millones de copias, demostrando que el talento y la ingeniería casera podían superar a los estudios más caros del mundo.
