I SAID “EXPOSED PIPES” — BUT THIS IS NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND. 🤦‍♂️💀

I wanted an industrial look with exposed piping… but I think someone took the idea a little too literally.

Fresh concrete, fresh forms, and somehow there’s a pipe running straight through the middle of the pour. 😳

Now the big question is: who is responsible for this one—the plumber, the concrete crew, or a communication breakdown between both? 😂

Before anyone starts pointing fingers, the real issue is figuring out how this was approved before the concrete was poured.

Would you call this a simple mistake, or a major coordination failure? 🏗️👀

I hired a guy to do drywall. He was nice and ready to do the work quickly but it seems he overestimated his skill in drywall installation. In review, I should have looked for a company with more than 16 five-star reviews.
“I’m very worried about the quality of this job. There is no corner bead on the half wall, no corner tape, large ridges, and a huge hole where the drain is. There are too many small sections instead of full pieces. It’s going to take a full skim coat on these walls to make them smooth. “
The contractors response is he didn’t know that was our expectation and would need to do a change order.
I’ve attached the photos and looking for advice. I’m not sure if we are being overly critical or if the contractor is a novice looking for more money. If it matters, we are paying him $700 for this work.

Having concrete poured tomorrow, and I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with these pipes before they cover everything up. They’re not for a gas fire pit, so I’m a little confused about their purpose.

My main concern is that they look like they’ll end up pretty much flush with the finished concrete. I’m really hoping they’re not planning to leave them sticking out and visible once the pour is done.

For anyone who’s familiar with concrete work, what would these pipes typically be for, and should I be concerned about how they’re positioned before the concrete is poured? Would appreciate any advice before tomorrow!
