LAB MFA artist
Miami’s longest-running alternative art space, invites graduate-level artists to submit project proposals for an exhibition in our 625 sq ft Project Room during the summer of 2025. This year’s focus is on digital and new media projects that push the boundaries of technology-driven artistic practices.
About the current exhibition in the Main room
Blackstar 16/25/60, a monumental intermedia installation by artist Tomas Vu. Taking its name from David Bowie’s critically-acclaimed final album, Blackstar, the exhibition is inspired by the cultural and artistic legacy of David Bowie and his role as a cultural “mixer,” blending genres, ideas, and influences into new forms.
Screenings, live music, listening sessions and digital workshops, will activate the installation. These events will critically explore Bowie’s continued influence on contemporary art and culture, connecting his legacy of building bridges
