Can somebody tell me what is this? Is this something really bad or it can heal by itself? (severe swelling in some places, a slightly unpleasant odor, the pain is not very sharp, and there is also a slight itching)
A little background: about three weeks ago, I started developing a strange rash on my arm and later on my face. I went to see doctors and was diagnosed with eczema and was told it was infected with cellulitis. I'm currently taking oral antibiotics (Keflex) and also using various creams (Lyderm, Fucidin, Betametasone Velorate). The cause of the eczema itself was never identified. I have already booked an appointment with a dermatologist (it's in a week), and everything was fine, but this thing is spreading for no apparent reason and intermittently (these gray patches appeared within two hours, and before that everything looked more or less normal, so there was nothing to indicate trouble). Is it really bad, or is this normal and I shouldn't worry? Will it go away if I just continue using the medications I've already been prescribed and wait for my appointment?
Update: I was in the ER and will see the surgeon on the 7th. They didn't tell me much, but they said that the infection that was diagnosed last time (cellulitis) caused necrosis in my eczema. Luckily, no infection was found in my blood, so I'm fine, and after they did a blood test and covered my arm with some cream (they prescribed a new one), they sent me home. So, my arm (and me) are fine for now. I'll post updates here. I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me, thank you so much! If it weren't for you, I definitely wouldn't have gone to the ER and would have seen the doctor only almost a week later (and who knows how it would have all ended). Thank you all again :)
UPD 22/02/26 (final update, probably): I finally had the necrosis removed. It happened last Wednesday :) Now I'm using a vacuum machine that I received from the clinic. The biopsy results also came back, the verdict: an allergic reaction for insect bite (I don't really believe it since it started in December, but they said that's what it looks like). Some areas on my arm are even starting to heal. This is probably the last update to this post, as my arm is looking better. I've been scheduled for some more tests that can help me better understand the cause, and if I have more answers, I'll definitely write here. My heartfelt thanks to you all, thank you for your support :)
