In Brisbane, Australia “It was incredible to see two young men get baptised this Sunday for the forgiveness of their sins.

Both are high school friends of Vali, our first ever baptism in our church. They had a lot of wrestle with but both radically changed their lives, character and future from the destructive path they were on. Many tears were shed by the family members who attended to witness and confirm just how much these young men have changed, and the answered prayer to one mum who shared how many years she had prayed for this moment and her fears for her son now tears for joy. Welcome to the Kingdom!! 🇷🇼🇵🇬” -

How to Pray Like a Prophet and Get Results

Have you ever seen a movie where someone controls wind or fire?

In Avatar, Ang bends the elements.
In X-Men, Storm controls the weather.

Sounds like make-believe, right?

But before these superheroes existed, there was a real man in the Bible who prayed—and God answered with fire and rain. 🔥 🌧️

His name was Elijah.

Elijah didn’t have superpowers.

But he had something stronger: faith and prayer.

Elijah Was Just Like Us

The Bible says:

“Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed that it would not rain, and it didn’t for three and a half years. Then he prayed again, and the sky gave rain.” – James 5:17-18

Elijah wasn’t special—just faithful. And that means we can do the same.

So if we imitate his heart, we can see big prayers answered too.

Because, faith isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being persistent.

Pray for God’s Glory, Not Your Own

When Elijah prayed for fire to come down from heaven, it wasn’t for attention.

He prayed so that people would turn back to God.

God loves answering prayers that help people know Him. But He’s not interested in selfish prayers.

““When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”—‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes we say we’re praying for others—but deep down, we do it for ourselves. That’s not faith. That’s pride in disguise.

God sees our hearts. He wants us to pray with pure hearts, like Elijah.

And when we do, miracles happen.

Believe Before You Pray

Before Elijah prayed for rain, he told the king, “Go eat and drink—the rain is coming.”

He believed before he even said the prayer. That’s bold!

That’s amazing faith. And it shows us something big: we should believe that God will answer—even before we pray.

When we planted a church in Brazil with just 7 people, everything looked impossible. We had very little—but we had faith.

But we believed. And God moved.

Now there are over 350 disciples and multiple churches in Brazil from that one small team.

Because faith sees the answered prayer, even before it shows up.

Keep Praying—Even When Nothing Happens

Elijah prayed for rain—then sent his helper to check the sky. Nothing.

Then he did this six more times.

Only after the seventh time did a tiny cloud appear.

But, that was enough. Rain was coming.

God could have answered right away—but He wanted Elijah to keep going. Why?

To test his heart.

The good news is that even if we don’t have the strong faith Elijah had—God is still kind.

I prayed for my dad to become a Christian for 23 years. And at age 81, he got baptized!

God answered, even when I didn’t always have perfect faith.

So, even if you believe, God may want you to persevere. So he makes you wait.

But it’s all part of the journey.

Because real faith doesn’t give up.
It looks up.

See God in the Small Stuff

Elijah didn’t wait for a thundercloud. Just a tiny cloud the size of a man’s hand was all he needed.

He knew—God was in that little cloud.

Many times we miss God because we’re looking for big lightning…

But God, He’s sending little clouds.

So we should be like Elijah and look for God in the little things.

Because God is working in every moment, small or big—to fulfill His purpose in our lives.

Final Thought:

You may never stop the rain or call down fire.

But with faith like Elijah, your prayers can move mountains in your life and in people’s hearts.

You see, Elijah was just like us… and God answered him.

Which means, He’ll answer you too.

So don’t hold back.

Pray bold.
Pray pure.
Pray again and again.

Because the sky is never the limit when you pray with faith, to the God who made it!

In Mexico City, Mexico “Benjamin, a married man who, due to immigration issues, had to return to Mexico because he was living in the United States.

His wife, who had previously been a disciple, encouraged Bengamin to study the Bible, and he realized that God had brought him back to Mexico for a specific purpose. The only true purpose: to have a relationship with God.

He began to study the Bible … and last week, Benjamin was baptized for the glory of God.“

In Tbilisi, Georgia “the past week has been incredibly blessed by God, and He has performed incredible miracles here in Tbilisi.

As we wrote earlier at the end of May, Farhad was baptized. Farhad and his wife Yulia lived in Thailand for 10 years before moving to Tbilisi.

Farhad was baptized for the first time at ICOC in Baku, Azerbaijan, and Yulia was baptized at ICOC in Bangkok. Last year, Alik, our brother from Baku, Azerbaijan, contacted Farhad and Yulia and invited them to attend church meetings in Tbilisi via Zoom.

Farhad and Yulia began attending Sunday services every Sunday. Later, they began studying the Bible to start the restoration process. As they studied the Bible, they realized that they had not been baptized as disciples of Christ. They also faced the challenge of moving to a city where there was a church. The couple lived far from Bangkok.

They prayed, boldly accepted the challenge, and decided to move to Tbilisi, where they could receive discipleship in their native language, Russian. Selling all their belongings, their business, and everything they had, they boldly moved to Tbilisi on April 2. They continued to study the Bible in Tbilisi, and in May, Farhad was baptized, but Yulia was still in the process. And last Saturday, July 12, praise God and heaven was rejoice, Farhad baptized his wife Yulia! Now they are united in Christ!” - Rezo and Sasha Davitadze

In Taipei, Taiwan, “A Taiwanese man by the name of Emmanuel (a name he chose after studying the Bible), was baptized into Christ this past Sunday!

Despite coming from a non-believing background, when approached by our brothers Alejandro and Benjamin, he quickly said yes to joining Bible talk, and soon after started studying the Bible.” - Leo Chan

In Bogotá, Colombia, “Daniela, a 22-year-old social worker, is the twin sister of our sister Laura ...

Her story is incredible because it started 5 years ago when she began to study the bible with her sister, but they decided not to continue and moved away.

After several years Laura decided to study the bible again and was baptized. Daniela studied the Bible but did not make any decisions. God in his infinite love allowed her to suffer for a certain time in the world where she tried to find a way to fill her heart and did not succeed. Finally this year she urgently sought out the sisters to take Bible studies and radically leave everything behind. She decided to walk with God, to live for him and now she is our sister in Christ!” - Danilo Bataglin

Raul’s Reflections

What Helps Us Change?

Let’s be real: changing is hard.

But staying the same, when we’re stuck in sin, is even harder in the long run.

So what helps us really change?

The Bible gives us 4 powerful reasons people change.

These are like fuel in our tank to help us keep going when we want to quit.

🔥 Pain
💗 Love
✝️ Grace
🌅 Heaven (Rewards)

Each one is like a tool in God’s toolbox to rebuild a broken life.

🔥 1. Pain: When Hurt Becomes Your Teacher

Pain is a wake-up call.

It’s God’s megaphone telling us, “Something needs to change.”

“Judah said to his brothers, “What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.” His brothers agreed.”—‭‭Genesis‬ ‭37‬:‭26‬-‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Think about Judah. He helped sell his brother Joseph into slavery.

Years later, when his younger brother Benjamin was in danger, Judah begged to take his place. Why?

Because he remembered how much pain he caused his dad the first time.

Pain opened his heart and made him care.

Because: “Pain is a mirror. When you look into it, you can clearly see what needs to be fixed.”

We often only stop sinning when we see how much it’s hurting others.

Sin, like lying, po*******hy, sleeping around, or other forms of selfishness—hurts the people we love.

It breaks trust with our spouse, disappoints our parents, discourages our church family, and most of all… it breaks God’s heart.

🎯So ask yourself: Is a few seconds of pleasure worth years of pain?

When you feel the pain you’ve caused, let it push you to make a change.

💖 2. Love: When Caring Makes You Courageous

“After [Jacob] had sent his family across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak.

Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”—‭‭Genesis‬ ‭32‬:‭23-4, ‭26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Judah’s dad, Jacob, wrestled with an angel all night.

He wouldn’t stop fighting until God gave him a blessing. Why?

Because he was scared his brother Esau was coming to kill his family.

So Jacob wrestled because he loved.

Jacob fought with everything he had because he wanted to protect the people he cared about.

That’s what we need in the fight against sin.

We have to care enough to wrestle in prayer.

To not give up. To keep going until God helps us win.

🎯 Because, real change comes when we love deeply—God, our family, our church.

So, if you love, you’ll fight.
If you care, you’ll change.

✝️ 3. Grace: When a Gift Changes Your Heart

Grace means getting a gift you didn’t earn.

God gave us His Son to die for our sins.

That’s grace. We didn’t deserve it. We couldn’t earn it. But He gave it anyway.

Look at what Titus 2:11-12 says:

“For the grace of God …teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,”

Why does grace help us stop sinning?

Because when someone gives you something really valuable, your heart changes.

You stop sinning, not out of fear—but out of gratitude.

🎯 Gratitude turns “I have to change” into “I want to change.”

Grace reminds us that Jesus didn’t die for us to keep doing what killed Him.

Because grace isn’t permission to sin, it’s power to change.”

🌅 4. Heaven: When You Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

Sometimes we forget the end goal—Heaven.

We get so busy doing stuff, even church stuff, that we forget where we’re going.

But we need to remember: Not to run fast—but to run home.

We read, pray, share our faith, and fight for purity, why?

Because we want to be with God forever. And we want others to come too.

Heaven is the finish line. The crown. The treasure.

When you remember Heaven, you stop playing with sin.

You stop asking, “What can I get away with?” and start asking, “What will get me home?”

1 John 3:3 says:
“All who hope to see Jesus purify themselves, just as He is pure.”

🎯 So don’t trade eternity in Heaven for only a moment of comfort.

Final Thoughts: What Will Move You?

Change takes motivation. It doesn’t happen by accident.

Here’s a simple way to remember to use the tools God has given us:

🔥Pain - Wakes you up
💖Love - Gives you strength
✝️Grace - Fills you with gratitude
🌅Heaven - Keeps you focused

Let God use whatever motivation you need today to change the way you think.

Because, if you don’t change your mind, you’ll never change your life.

So, whether it’s:

Pain that opens your eyes,
Love that makes you strong,
Grace that softens your heart, or
Heaven that keeps you focused…

It’s time to:

Get up.
Start fresh.
And wrestle with God, until he blesses you.

But don’t give up until you’re free!
