This morning while dropping my kids off at school I had a very not dull, but strangely common, near accident.

While going through my neighbourhood two Bucks stuck in a rut suddenly popped out from between two vehicles. I had to lock up my brakes to avoid hitting them. Then they fought in front of my truck long enough for me to get this photo before the one on the left finally shoved the one on the right down someone's driveway.

To some, this may seem like a completely unheard of situation in an urban centre. However, I live in Medicine Hat, Alberta in Canada, where the deer are so integrated into society they often use the crosswalks better than humans do. Where the deer casually wander down the sidewalks, and bike paths. I have even seen them use a foot bridge. They are so common and unbothered by humans that I have even backed into one while exiting my driveway in the early morning before the sun came up.

This got me wondering about other cities that maybe have an urban population of animals that folks have just sort of accepted as normal. Which brought me to you fine folks.

Some guy tipped me $10… in quarters. And I’m still trying to figure out who thinks that’s okay.
I just finished a DoorDash order, and he says he forgot to tip in the app. Fine. Then he pulls out a full roll of quarters like it’s some kind of treasure and goes:
“Sorry man, I didn’t tip on the app, this is all I’ve got.”
Cool… nothing says appreciation in 2026 like handing someone a pile of coins. I’m not a parking meter. I’m not carrying rolls of change or making a trip to Coinstar for money I already earned.
I took it to avoid a scene, but tipping in quarters? Next-level absurd. Tip in the app, tip in cash, tip digitally—just don’t make me juggle metal. That’s the real punchline.

Says he doesn’t me to have worry about keeping myself & kids safe from creeps 😩❤️ ( but he already taught me how to peel a cap back if needed , he just likes to be my bodyguard🤣)

Due to my irregular body type, I was never happy with the way jeans fit on me so I wore shorts for the majority of my life. All that changed in 2013 when I went to Costco and found the perfect pair of stretchy jeans for $16.99. Unfortunately the jeans tore in the posterior while I was skating. I went back to Costco, only to find that they no longer sold this particular style. I searched the internet and found a pair for $38 on eBay. I hurriedly purchased the marked up merchandise, and was much more cautious with the use of it. To my great joy, Costco reintroduced this jean in 2014. I purchased 12 pairs, both in my current size and 1 size up incase I plump up as I age. This was done with the intention of having a lifetime supply, never having to buy jeans again. 11 years later, I have yet to wear through a pair of jeans. I currently rotate through 4 pairs in my closet (original size), and the rest remain in storage. Every time I move, the jeans are placed in a tote, and travel to their new home. Currently getting ready for a 2000 mile (3218.69 km) move.

A few nights ago I served rolls with dinner. I innocently brought this butter dish to the table never expecting what would happen next. I sliced a small pat off of the right side like a lady does. Mr. K dug a chunk all willy-nilly out of the left side because, apparently, he was raised by a fl**ge of baboons.
Before any of you from the UK try to correct me simply because I'm from the US, I am aware a gathering of baboons could also be referred to as a troop, congress, tribe or band. Let's not worry about that. LOOK WHAT HE DID TO THE BUTTER!!!

I don’t want you to hold my newborn.

I carried them for 9 months.
I gave birth to them.
I’m learning them. They’re learning me.

This isn’t the time for passing my baby around like a trophy.

They don’t need a relationship with anyone right now… they need their mother.

And honestly..
Watching someone else hold my newborn gives me anxiety.

So no… I’m not “ready to share”
