International Women's Day: Two young women having a good time with the camera in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
🔹
In many areas in the world, women entrepreneurs are the backbone of an areas' economic life and empowering women in these areas can life up an entire community. One of the organizations we've been involved in and believe in strongly is Kiva.org.
🔸
Kiva is a micro-lending platform providing loans to entrepeneurs (for everything from a sack of seeds to a bicycle for deliveries) that are outside the world financial system simply because they are poor and in underserved communities. Many of these are women led micro-businesses. And the great thing is, that the loans are eventually paid back with a small amount of interest, allowing you to lend it out again and a little more. In that way, it's a giving multiplier that creates a web of uplift -- For example, some of an Indonesia farmer's repaid interest may go to a an aspiring coffee cart owner in El Salvador.

Kiva has been a great experience for us, and if you want to get started for Int'l Women's Day, you can visit:
