Minneapolis daycare owner Fahima Egeh Mahamud has been federally charged with wire fraud and conspiracy for allegedly stealing $4.6 million by submitting over 13,000 false claims to the state's Child Care Assistance Program
Prosecutors state that between October 2022 and December 2025, Mahamud submitted more than 13,000 fraudulent claims through her business, Future Leaders Early Learning Center.
She allegedly collected the millions in federal and state reimbursements by falsely certifying that she had collected mandatory co-payments from families, which is a required step for state funding.
Mahamud was already facing separate federal charges from February 2026 for her alleged role as the 79th defendant in Minnesota's massive $250+ million "Feeding Our Future" meal fraud scandal, where she allegedly stole over $850,000 meant to feed underprivileged children.
Her daycare center originally drew immense public scrutiny after being featured in a viral video by internet influencer Nick Shirley, who filmed what appeared to be empty, fraudulent childcare operations in Minneapolis

BREAKING: “FAMILY MAN?” This Trump-endorsed Arizona Congressional hopeful was just accused of running a sw***er circle and threatening women with his sheriff's badge.
Mark Lamb wants to represent Arizona in Congress as a Republican. On paper, it looks like he has the perfect credentials for a MAGA candidate.
He's Trump-endorsed, a Mormon, and runs on family values. He’s a former sheriff of Pinal County who started his career in pest control. He’s written a book. His wife wrote a book, too. They've posed with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. He calls himself a family man. He even ran for Senate in Arizona and lost the primary to Kari Lake.
But Lamb is also accused of sending explicit photos of himself to multiple women, threatening a woman with law enforcement retaliation if she posted his images, introducing his best friend to a sw***er lifestyle without the friend's wife's knowledge — destroying that marriage in the process — and triggering an investigation by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Arizona Republic spent considerable time documenting the allegations, and they are extensive.
One woman, Jillian Stannard, says Lamb's wife had a years-long affair with her then-husband after Lamb brought him into their sexual circle without her knowledge or consent. When Stannard sent explicit material — including a photo of Lamb's anatomy — to LDS church officials as part of their investigation, she says Lamb got in her face and threatened her directly. "Whatever you and Matt are dealing with has collateral damage," he allegedly told her.
Another woman says Lamb threatened to "call DPS" — the Arizona Department of Public Safety, which he had authority over as sheriff — if she posted his explicit images. He then allegedly offered to personally shut down any state criminal probe against her if she took down her posts. "I will ask for them not to proceed," he allegedly wrote. "My wife says she is okay with that too."
A third woman, Tammy Peacock, reportedly had a years-long affair with Lamb and had his sheriff's badge tattooed on her body with his name. "I love that tattoo," Lamb allegedly messaged her. In his book, he claimed he was "mortified" by it.
Lamb's response to all of this? "I've been with one woman in my life, and that was my wife."
Despite the revelations about his kinky sexual proclivities, Lamb is currently the favorite to win Arizona's 5th Congressional District. Donald Trump endorsed him anyway. Birds of a feather, we guess.

🔥 Federal agents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) boarded multiple cruise ships docked at the Port of San Diego as part of a targeted child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) investigation.
The Operation: Between April 23 and April 27, 2026, federal agents boarded eight cruise vessels. They interviewed 28 crew members and determined 27 were involved in the receipt, possession, transportation, or viewing of illegal material.
Disney Involvement: Ten of the suspected workers were employed aboard the Disney Magic. Disembarking passengers filmed at least four of these workers being led away in zip-ties by federal officers. Crew members from Holland America were also implicated.
Nationalities & Outcomes: The 27 crew members included 26 individuals from the Philippines, one from Indonesia, and one from Portugal. Because they are foreign nationals, the federal government canceled their visas and initiated immediate deportation to their home countries.
Disney’s Response: A Disney Cruise Line spokesperson stated the company has a "zero-tolerance policy" and fully cooperated with law enforcement. They confirmed that the employees involved have been terminated.
