Every 1949 Nash Airflyte came standard with front seats that folded completely flat to create a double-bed-sized sleeping surface (a feature the company branded "Bed-In-A-Car").

Nash dealers sold coordinated bedding kits (mattress pads, sheets, and pillows) as accessories, making the setup as close to a proper bed as anything on four wheels. It was a clever pitch for the postwar road-trip market, when reliable motels were still scarce outside major routes.
