WhistlinDiesel had one of those ideas that sounds insane on paper and gets worse in ex*****on. Take a Dodge truck. Add 17 turbochargers. See what happens. What happened was exactly what you'd expect from bolting 17 turbos onto an engine that was never designed for one-tenth of the resulting power.

Before attaching the turbos to the truck, the team tested how much power the setup could generate. The answer: 18,000 horsepower. From a pickup truck. With 17 turbochargers hanging off the engine. The truck was heavier than it was supposed to be, more powerful than anything with wheels should be, and producing torque that no driveline component in existence could handle for long.

WhistlinDiesel took the truck to a show for its public debut. He acknowledged the obvious: "This is going to affect the drivability of the truck." Understatement of the year.

Within minutes, reality won. Seventeen turbochargers made the engine work harder than any engine should work. The extra heat became fire. The fire became a cloud of smoke. The truck that was briefly the most powerful Dodge on earth was barely visible in its own exhaust. Then it was done.

This is what WhistlinDiesel does. He builds things that shouldn't exist, pushes them until they break, films the whole thing, and millions of people watch. The truck with 17 turbos was never going to survive. That was never the point. The point was to see how much chaos 18,000 horsepower in a pickup truck creates before physics says no. The answer: Not very long. But long enough for a video.
