the moment is finally here!! i’m beyond excited to be making my debut on the freedom stage tomorrow from 17:00 to 18:30 🦋

as some of you may have seen, there was a fire yesterday that impacted the main stage. thankfully no one was hurt, and the festival is still moving forward as planned. my heart goes out to the entire tomorrowland team working tirelessly to rebuild and reimagine what’s ahead. i’m honored to be part of it and can’t wait to share this moment with you.

Layla Benitez is an up and coming Deep House and Afro House DJ born and raised in New York City. She grew up with music coursing through her veins- Her father is renowned producer and DJ Jellybean Benitez. He helped to define the unforgettable energy and sounds of New York in the 80s. He was a resident of iconic clubs such as, Studio 54, The Limelight, and Palladium. The rhythm of her past is felt in every set. Ranging from techno, to house, to soul- Layla’s unique mergence of sound is a funky journey with dark undertones.

From playing top events of Miami Music Week and Art Basel to Purim’s hidden private parties in Tel Aviv, Layla is a dynamic artist. She has DJed many underground parties in NYC including, “Lovebreak”, “Birdcage”, “Funkbox”, “White Lodge”, “Traumland”, “Disturbed”, “Playroom”, “Sonara”, “Memoirs" and “Babel”. She is also a resident of Good Behavior’s “Dreamland” at the Made Hotel in New York. In May, she played the opening and closing events of The Tribeca Film Festival. She spent this past summer as a resident DJ of Sommer Klein in Alacati, Turkey, whilst touring Europe and The Middle East.

Layla always continues to play alongside her biggest teacher, her dad. She is driven by how new sounds, music, and experience can be bridged together in reimagined ways. Constantly intrigued by experimentation and the flux of today’s musical landscape, Layla is always driven to bring fresh energy and a bit of the unknown to every set.
