She Drives / She Surfs opens Saturday May 2nd, 6–9 PM, on view through May 31st at Dále Zine.

Following its London launch, British-Jamaican photographer and director Juanita Richards brings this body of work to Miami. In early 2024 she went home to Jamaica, seeking communities who pioneer the unexpected. There she found two sisterhoods: women within Caribbean car culture and the surf collective Surf Girls Jamaica. She spent time with each, documenting them through her lens.

Too often, stories of Caribbean life are viewed through a narrow Western lens. This work is an alternative — rooted in complexity, lived reality, and the communities that exist beyond expectation.

An accompanying book will be available during the exhibition. First edition, limited to 200 copies. A limited number remain.

Join us April 29th for a walk through of Poem Forever guided by curator Natalia Sosa Molina and artist Clo Pantano. This will be the closing event of the show.

is an Argentine curator, producer, and artist. She is one of the curators for Fundación Proa (Buenos Aires) and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Buenos Aires (MACBA). Since July 2024, she has served as curator at large at Tomás Redrado Art gallery, supporting curatorial processes as well as the incorporation of new artists. She writes and publishes regularly on contemporary art in international magazines and platforms such as Piscina (Brazil), Artishock (Chile), Tramontana (Spain), and Global Art Daily (Japan).

Cueva mojada layers tattoo stencils, textural pastes, paint, found objects and resins to create a fantasy-like glimpse of the cave imaginary present across Clo’s work. Wavering between cuteness and darkness, they are interested in giving found objects, usually related to femininity, a place of belonging. There are feelings of archeological surprise, something is being unburied and not everything is visible yet.

Hogar is built from nostalgia based on feelings and memories around territory and family. It is a portal that transports us to a place, physical or imaginary. Inspired by geological aspects, especially the cave systems of La Sierra de Agalta in Honduras, Clo creates their own versions of place and home to heal feelings of deterritorialization.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate solo show - “Daydreams”

Also thank you for the great tunes all night.

In this exhibition, the artist seeks to explore the idea of ambition and the perils of obsession involved in the pursuit of self-realization through painting. Gabriel summons and populates scenes of the everyday with supernatural entities and events to represent the constant presence of these hopes, dreams and aspirations.

With the title of the exhibition, the artist references and signals to a passage in Mary Shelley’s seminal novel, Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus. A work of art that deals with similar issues:

“Inspirited by this wind of promise, my day dreams become more fervent and vivid.”

Gabriel Pozzo, an America born artist who grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, depicts autobiographical scenes that explore the threshold and duality of his Venezuelan American identity.
Gabriel (b. 1994, Washington, DC.) borrows from the heritage of Latin America’s ‘magic realism’ & through it the artist paints his lived experiences. The concepts of the foreign and the sublime serve as catalysts through which the work documents the artist’s past in Venezuela, explore his process of migration and speaks about integration into the American life and culture while preserving & nurturing his roots from the Caribbean region.
The formal qualities of the work present themselves as paintings that tether between abstraction and figuration.

Joshua Veasey (b. 1992, Lakeland, FL) is a Miami-based interdisciplinary artist working across photography, fiber, and assemblage. He transforms portraits of friends, lovers, and himself into sewn photographic tapestries that function as soft paintings. Through cutting, stitching, and layering, Veasey fashions materials together to explore how the boundaries between memory and image are blurred, examining intimacy, identity, and connection.

Veasey received a BFA in Sculpture from New World School of the Arts. His work has been exhibited at Oolite Arts, Mindy Solomon Gallery, Gucci-Vuitton, and the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation. He was a recipient of the Miami Beach Open House Residency (2021) and Oolite Arts’ Home + Away Residency at Anderson Ranch (2021).
