Our hearts are heavy today as we share loss of one of our own. Master Sgt. Richard Kelly passed away last night in his sleep.

Master Sgt. Kelly began his journey with us in 2008 as a Corrections Assistant, later becoming a Corrections Officer and earning the Honor Graduate award. In 2012, he became a Patrol Deputy, rising through the ranks to Sergeant in 2020 and Master Sergeant in June of this year.

Throughout his career, he was a dedicated Field Training Officer, shaping the next generation of our agency. He also served on the Field Force Unit, always eager to help wherever he was needed. His commitment and friendship touched many lives within our MCSO family.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Master Sgt. Kelly's family, friends, and all of his brothers and sisters in green. His loss is felt across our agency, and we ask that you keep everyone who knew and loved him in your prayers during this difficult time.
