918 Day is almost here, and I can’t wait to celebrate my first one as Mayor!
This year, we're launching a new community event called the 918 Day Passport Challenge, which is an activity happening the Saturday after 918 Day (Sept. 20) that will help you get to know Tulsa's destination districts better! The idea is simple - get your passport (whether in-person or digitally), collect your stamps, and hand it to our Tulsa Parks staff in the Pearl District at your last stop at the Handmade Market at Veterans Park. While it's not a race, you will be entered into our 918 Day Giveaway if you get all your stamps, so you don't want to miss out.
I'll also be taking a “Monroe On the Go” trip on 918 Day (Sept. 18) - stopping at schools, businesses, and community spots across Tulsa to highlight the people and places that make our city great. During the day, you can follow along with me on social media, so be sure to give me a follow if you haven't already.
Lastly, don't forget to show your Tulsa pride and support our local business community. Whether you do it through supporting local businesses or attending one of the many events throughout the day, we want you to show up and show out for our city.
Detailed information on how to participate in the 918 Day Passport Challenge, in addition to social media graphics that you can use to celebrate digitally, can be all be found online at: www.cityoftulsa.org/918Day
