Max the Mac Man

Max the Mac Man Specializing in NOS OEM Vintage McCulloch Chainsaw parts. Since 1981 I have used McCulloch Chainsaws. I do my best to ensure each part is exactly described.

I have been around them and worked on them for over 40 years now. During that time my Uncle taught me how to operate and repair them. I started collecting and restoring McCulloch Chainsaws many years ago. The quest to restore the saws meant I needed replacement parts. Over time I have acquired a vast amount of New Old Stock (NOS) McCulloch Saw parts. I am listing new parts on eBay as I have time t

o organize them and get them listed. Each part is hand checked by me prior to listing and again prior shipping. I am a one man operation focused delivering quality, difficult to find McCulloch Chainsaw parts to the McCulloch lovers of the world. McCulloch Chainsaws, I collect them, I use them, I love them just like you do. My saws are much more than yellow and black, they take me back to a time when the world was a much bigger place, and the men in my life were giants. Thank you for stopping in.

Well the 7-10A is apart, it ain't good. It had been taken part before. Whoever did it did not reseal the crankcase to the cylinder. Piston bearings were shot, Rod journal was shot, the crank is scored on the flywheel side, wrist pin worn, rod bearings worn. Lots of travel and play in this one. Where the piston needle bearing went we don't know. Lucky the cylinder and piston are still in good usage condition. We can fix the old girl, she will live again...

Here's a RARE RARE bird. This McCulloch 3-10E was chromed by McCulloch. It was not done aftermarket. The story is it was gifted to Robert McCulloch by his employees to commemorate the creation of the electric start saws. The story continues that he went to a test log outside the plant and cut a cookie or two. (The saw was in fact ran as evidence from close inspection prior to cleaning revealed sawdust chips in and on the saw). Then the saw was set up somewhere. A few years back it popped up and I helped facilitate it landing where it needed to be. The McCulloch Chainsaw Museum in D**e Iowa. You can see it and hundreds of other models and OEM McCulloch advertisements, literature, and more in the Museum my friend Mark so diligently curates for us all to see and enjoy.

Brought this ProMac 8200 back to life a while back...

This is why we tell ya'll check your intake boots. Classic tale...

"Man the saw was screaming then she just stopped and I could not pull it over to restart it"

This is what a massive air leak will do, and will do fast.

$20 part failure due to time, $1150.00 in parts and repair. Could have been stopped with awareness and $20.00

She's rebuilt and happy now...
