I am excited to finally announce this addition to our Swanson Media Group family!
We have recently acquired the #1 airsoft title in the world, the multi award winning AirSoft Action Magazine. This formerly UK based publication is now going to span the "pond" and bring top level training equipment, fun adventures abroad and education to the US.
Our SMG team welcomes a seasoned staff of industry experts with close ties to 6mm manufacturers and great military, LEO and industry perspective to what has been too long considered kids toys. The world of airsoft has greatly changed and the fi****ms industry is really doing a great job embracing it as safe, effect ways to train new shooters, kids, families and seasoned shooters on the real life scenario based Force on Force training.
With the retirement from full time duties recently announced by the AA editor, Bill Pryce-Thomas, my good friend and long time trusted SMG and STG teammate, John Boycie Turrell will step up from his roll as an established industry writer to become the new editor. This promotion is a natural fit for John who already has an "insider" position with the title and great working knowledge of how the US side operates as a valued member of our Armed Lifestyle Magazine SHOT Show crew each year.
For those who have followed my media world journey over the past 15 years, you will know this is a full circle moment for me personally. First, I attribute my start and may of my amazing opportunities to a friend and mentor, Bill Pryce-Thomas. Words simply do not express what he has meant to me and my family. He and former AA owner, Nigel Streeter have done an amazing job with building a great brand and going the extra mile to make this a seamless transfer.
In addition to the Airsoft Action title and complete library if past issues that will be available in 2027 after relaunch, we have also acquired the rights and library to the former publication, PMCI Magazine, THE industry title for the Private Military Contractor industry! All the great articles written by myself and industry giants such as author and warrior, Shawn Swanson will at some point become available once more.
