Looking at your 2024 calendar, do you have a need for pulpit supply and speakers at various meetings, conferences, concerts and festivals? Please remember that WIHS leaders are available to assist.

For example, WIHS General Manager Matt Harper is representing WIHS at Abundant Life Church in Colchester on Sunday morning, January 14 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. He's also preaching and representing WIHS at Olivet Baptist Church in Hamden on Sunday, January 21 from 2 to 4:30 pm and at King's House Church in Meriden on Sunday, January 28 at 10 am.

Also, Connecticut Radio Fellowship Board President Drew Crandall will be sharing "The Life & Legacy of Prudence Crandall (Connecticut's Official Heroine) through the Eyes of Faith," a 90-minute PowerPoint presentation at The Heart Church in Windsor on Thursday, February 22 from 10 - 11:30 am hosted by Peace, Wonder, Wisdom Schole, a local homeschool group. Admission is free and open to the public. Prudence was a Christ-follower who courageously took a stand against racism and slavery in the 1830s.

To explore the possibilities, please call the WIHS office during normal workday hours at 860.346.1049.

Yesterday, WIHS General Manager Matt Harper met with Corey Barrette, Volunteer and Community Relations Manager at the Midwest Food Bank in Manchester, for a tour of their facility. MFB is a remarkable operation, supplying organizations with free groceries which they, in turn, donate to needy families and individuals.

Matt Harper was recently promoted to General Manager of WIHS! He had been promoted to "Acting General Manager" in October during a transition period.

A resident of East Hartford, Matt has been with WIHS since 2019, serving as an on-air announcer, show producer, and Community Outreach Coordinator. He is an ordained minister with an extensive educational background, including a B.A. in Pastoral Communication and an M.A. in Biblical Studies from Northland International University in Dunbar, Wisconsin; a Master of Divinity from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa; and a Master of Public Administration from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Go Matt! You're off to an excellent start!

WIHS will have a display at this Friday's presentation of "A Journey to the Potter's House" at Jacob's Well Coffeehouse. This special event will be held in the beautiful 600-seat, circa 1890 Union Church sanctuary, 3 Elm Street in the historic Rockville section of Vernon.

Come to this profound "live" pottery demonstration as Dr. Michael Ferris shares how God is the Potter and we are His clay. Dress is casual and admission is free.

While you're there, visit the WIHS display in the adjacent chapel, meet our General Manager Matt Harper and Board President Drew Crandall, and take some promo tools to help to get the word out on WIHS!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We hope that you're encouraged and inspired by this "simple" WIHS vision for 2024 and beyond:

• Jesus is our Rock! WIHS will always be founded on the Word and the Spirit. We will not drift as so many organizations do.

• WIHS will always be bathed in prayer. The station was conceived and born through seven years of prayer, and has been sustained by ongoing prayer.

• We will be overtly evangelistic and outwardly focused! Ye must be born again! The Great Commission says GO! We will not flinch from proclaiming the Good News, helping souls to come to and grow in Christ.

• We will bloom where we’re planted! We were born in Connecticut, and our name is “Connecticut Radio Fellowship.” While the Holy Spirit may use our content to bless souls elsewhere, we will intentionally focus our time, talent, tongue and treasure on Kingdom-building here in Connecticut.

• We will operate in a balanced way, with all ministry “walls” strong and supporting each other. We will repair, maintain and build the walls with the bricks of Biblical principles and the mortar of the Holy Spirit.

• We will represent the diversity of the Body of Christ in Connecticut (geographically, demographically, ethnically, culturally and denominationally.)

• We will be a ministry where the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit are free to flow!

• We will be a multi-media ministry with a growing digital and relational footprint.

Can we hear an Amen?

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have a blessed holiday weekend as we remember and celebrate the awesome birth of Jesus. He truly is the "reason for the season." Nothing compares to Him. Have you received his mind-blowing gift of forgiveness of your sins and eternal life in heaven? You can know for sure!

On Saturday night, we invite you to participate in two Christmas specials:

* WIHS is partnering with Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse in Rockville to sponsor three ads during “Christmas with The Chosen: Holy Night” from 8:00-10:00 pm on CW 20 TV.

“THE MESSENGERS” AND “THE SHEPHERD” BLEND TOGETHER IN ONE VERY SPECIAL PRESENTATION – A young mother labeled impure. A shepherd boy considered “unclean.” Experience Jesus’ birth through their eyes. A performance from world renowned performer Andrea Bocelli, with his son Matteo Bocelli, highlights seven musical performances and two beautiful new monologues. Starring Elizabeth Tabish and Vanessa Benavente and directed by Dallas Jenkins & Jacob Schwarz. The special also includes the most fan-requested performances from the previous two specials: Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude,” Matt Maher’s “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” Bonner Family’s “How Great Thou Art,” Zach Williams’s “Go Tell It,” One Voice Children’s Choir’s “What Child Is This,” and the “Joy to the World” finale featuring Phil Wickham and Maverick City Music.

* WIHS' weekly Prayer Circle broadcast from 8:30 to 9 pm will be led by Connecticut Radio Fellowship Board President Drew Crandall. After he leads prayers for listener requests that came in this week, he will share a special Christmas gospel message and invitation. What better gift for souls to receive this Christmas season than the gift of eternal life in heaven through the New Birth? Nothing compares to it!

The 4th quarter of the year is traditionally the "peak" quarter for financial contributions to WIHS, which is a non-profit, listener-supported, commercial-free media ministry. In recent years, 42% of donations have been made in the 4th quarter.

Please remember us in your year-end 2023 charitable giving, and make your 2024 Faith Sharing "pledge!" https://www.wihsradio.org/index.php/support-wihs/faith-promise/ . Thank you!

WIHS is a commercial-free, listener-supported non-profit ministry. Faith Sharing is the time each year when we focus on funding of the station. We had an excellent telethon on October 6-7, thank you! WIHS collaborated with LIVE NATION / Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford to promote last night's Christmas concert with Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant and Michael Tait (lead singer for the Newsboys).

From start to finish, it was a terrific evening in which many WIHS listeners (including our ticket giveaway contest winners) participated.

The first set consisted of a trip down Memory Lane with many traditional secular Christmas season songs. Then, after intermission, we "rocketed" up into celebration and praise of our Messiah! Here's a photo of the stage just before the concert began.
