Fishing Report for July 3, 2025
Summer fishing has been pretty good. Croaker, spot and small striped bass were caught at the Woodland Beach Pier, while white perch and small striped bass were in the tidal creeks. The summer slot striped bass season opened yesterday and some were caught at the Augustine Wall.
Trout, summer flounder, croaker and spot were caught at the Upper Bay reef sites. Spot, croaker, blues and flounder were caught at Broadkill Beach.
Anglers at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier were mostly catching spot, croaker and kingfish.
The action in the surf was spot, croaker and kings with many dogfish and skates.
The Indian River Inlet is still producing a few striped bass, some blues and some sheepshead in the rocks. Spot and croaker were caught at Masseys Landing and some flounder have been caught in Indian River Bay.
Those fishing the inshore ocean are catching big croaker and small black sea bass. The offshore ocean was producing yellowfin and bigeye tuna.
In freshwater, snakeheads were caught in Garrisons Lake and Masseys Mill Pond..
The 4th of July traffic is already very heavy at the beaches.
