Delaware Fishing Report Aug. 21, 2026

Fishing Report for Friday, August 21, 2026.

Not much change in fishing from last week. In the Delaware River and Bay, catfish and white perch were caught at Augustine Beach and in the tidal creeks and rivers. The Mid-Bay reef sites have produced flounder and trout. The Bowers Beach Jetty was still good for flounder, croaker and spot. Spot and croaker were caught at Broadkill Beach while bigger croaker and some flounder were caught in the Broadkill River. Sheepshead and triggerfish were caught at the Outer Wall and Ice Breakers. The catch at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier is still mostly spot and croaker with a few keeper flounder.

Spot, croaker and kings were caught in the surf but anglers must avoid the jellyfish.

The Indian River Inlet is producing sheepshead, triggerfish and small tog from the rocks.

Spot, croaker and flounder were caught at the Old Grounds and dolphin were taken at the Del-Jersey-Land reef in the Inshore Ocean.

The Offshore Ocean produced yellowfin tuna and tilefish from the canyons.

In freshwater, bass were reported from Garrisons Lake and Lums Pond while snakeheads were caught at Garrisons Lake.

A 180-ft. long former menhaden boat was the latest addition to the Del-Jersey-Land reef.

South Delaware: Some news about Griffith Lake.

The Delaware DNREC will close the Griffith Lake boat ramp in Milford for the foreseeable future starting Monday, Aug. 17. The ramp and adjacent parking lot will remain closed during reconstruction of the spillway at Griffith Lake Dam under the direction of the DNREC Dam Safety Program. The project is expected to be completed by the end of December 2027.

Anglers are encouraged by the DNREC Fisheries Section to utilize the Hearns Pond boat ramp or Blairs Pond boat ramp which are the nearest alternatives for fishing in the Milford area.

Delaware Fishing Report July 10th, 2026.
This pass weekend 9th Annual Paradise Bay Flounder came with a $20,000 winner with 7.2lb, 25 1/16" Flounder.
Plenty of saltwater & freshwater fish are being caught.
With high temps in 90's this week, becareful in the heat. Fish early mornings and evenings.

Fishing Report for July 10, 2026

In the Delaware River and Bay, croaker were caught from the Woodland Beach fishing pier, catfish and white perch were caught at Augustine Beach, and slot striped bass were caught at the Augustine Wall. In addition, flounder, bluefish and croaker were caught at the Bay reef sites. Spot and croaker were caught at Broadkill Beach.

Tog, sheepshead and triggerfish were caught at the Outer Wall and Ice Breakers. The catch at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier is still mostly spot and croaker.

Spot, croaker and kings were caught in the surf along with skates and dogfish.

Striped bass to 39” and bluefish were caught at night at the Indian River Inlet and sheepshead and triggerfish were pulled from the rocks there. Flounder, blues and sharks were all caught in the Inland Bays.

Black sea bass and flounder fishing continued to be good over structure while Spanish mackerel and blues were hooked at Fenwick Shoal in the Inshore Ocean.

The Offshore Ocean produced yellowfin tuna and tilefish from the canyons.

In freshwater, bass were reported from Garrisons Lake, Lums Pond, Lake Como and Silver Lake Dover while snakeheads were caught at Garrisons Lake.

Delaware Fishing Report July 2nd 2026. Hot & Humid with thunder showers this 4th of July weekend. Be safe out there.

Fishing Report for Thursday, July 2, 2026.

In Delaware River and Bay, croaker were caught from the Woodland Beach fishing pier, catfish and white perch were caught at Augustine Beach, flounder were caught along with a few slot striped bass at the Bowers Beach jetty, spot and croaker were caught at Broadkill Beach and sheepshead were caught on reef sites 3 and 4. The catch at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier is still mostly spot and croaker but there were also a few pompano, undersize flounder, and some sheepshead.

Spot, croaker and kings were caught in the surf.

Bluefish were still being caught on incoming water at the Indian River Inlet and sheepshead and triggerfish were pulled from the rocks there.

Flounder are still the main attraction in the Inland Bays. Black sea bass and flounder fishing continued to be good over structure while Spanish mackerel were back at Fenwick Shoal in the Inshore Ocean.

The Offshore Ocean produced yellowfin tuna and tilefish.

In freshwater, bass and crappie were reported from Garrisons Lake, Masseys Mill Pond and Silver Lake Dover.

Fish early in the morning to beat the heat.

Delaware Fishing Report June 25, 2026.
Rain & cloudy weekend. Sunday looking pretty good. Up coming weather will be higher temps 90's and Thur & Fri July 2nd & 3rd breaking 100°. Enjoy fishing & stay safe.

Fishing Report for Thursday, June 25, 2026

Spot and croaker were caught at Woodland Beach, Port Mahon, Bowers Beach and Broadkill Beach and on structure out in the Bay. Catfish were caught at Augustine. Keeper flounder were caught in the Lewes Rehoboth Canal. The Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier reported that spot, croaker and mostly undersize flounder were caught from the pier.

Spot, croaker and kings were caught in the surf.

Bluefish were caught on incoming water at the Indian River Inlet and sheepshead were pulled from the rocks there.

Flounder action remained good in the Inland Bays and there were also good numbers of spot and croaker.

Black sea bass and flounder fishing continued to be good over structure in the Ocean while the bluefin tuna action tapered off.

In freshwater, bass were reported from Garrisons Lake, Masseys Mill Pond and Silver Lake Dover.

Don’t operate a boat after or while drinking alcoholic beverages.
