Delaware fishing report.

Fishing Report for Thursday, October 23, 2025.

When the weather cooperated, there was some good fishing last week. It was still mostly white perch and catfish being caught along the shore from Augustine Beach down to Woodland Beach, from the C&D Canal piers and in the tidal rivers and creeks. Tog, bluefish and a few black sea bass were caught at the Bay reef sites and around the lighthouses.

Anglers at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier caught spot, croaker, kings plus some small sheepshead and flounder.

The surf produced bluefish in the early morning when surf wasn’t too rough.

While the rocks at the Indian River Inlet were still yielding tog and sheepshead, anglers targeting striped bass also did well.

The Inshore Ocean produced a lot of keeper black sea bass last Saturday.

In freshwater, some anglers were catching blue catfish out of the Nanticoke River and white perch from Broad Creek, trout anglers were targeting the rainbow trout stocked this week in White Clay Creek, while others were catching snakeheads in the upper reaches of tidal rivers.

Fall black sea bass fishing is off to a good start.

Fishing Report for Thursday, October 16, 2025

The weather kept anglers on land for most of last week. It was still mostly white perch and catfish being caught along the shore from Augustine Beach down to Woodland Beach, from the C&D Canal piers and in the tidal creeks. Anglers at the Cape Henlopen State Park Fishing Pier caught spot, croaker, small blues and flounder, and an occasional kingfish.

The surf produced bluefish in the early morning when surf wasn’t too rough.

The rocks at the Indian River Inlet were still yielding tog and sheepshead.

There were no reports from the Inshore or Offshore Ocean.

In freshwater, Silver Lake Dover and Garrisons Lake were still producing bass and crappie while anglers were catching snakeheads in the upper reaches of tidal rivers.

It could be a few weeks before the ocean bottom settles down enough for good fishing.
