Healthy food that doesn’t taste like regret ☀️

If you’re like me and you’ve been begging for more healthy options that don’t make you want to cry over some lettuce, check out Currito at The Grove At Newark in Newark. They just opened and I am HERE for another Delaware option that makes eating healthier not suck.

From colorful bowls, wraps, smoothies, hearty proteins as well as vegetarian and vegan choices, there’s something here for just about every diet.

This cozy Italian spot in Dover is worth the trip 🇮🇹

There’s just something comforting about a good local Italian spot. Maybe it’s growing up in Brooklyn being surrounded by them, but this one makes me feel like I’m back in my old neighborhood.

You might’ve passed by on route 13, but you have to stop at Piazza Mia Italian Restaurant Dover if you haven’t already, because they’re serving up the kind of hearty, comforting Italian food that calls for the whole table to order way too much and share everything. Which is basically how I live my life.

Pizza, cocktails, big entrées and dessert? You had me at food. Make sure you come hungry. 🤤

This may have been an invite, but I’ve loved this place since I first came to Dover. So naturally I brought my parents along, because this is one of their favorite restaurants. Anddd I have some fun videos about that too, coming soon. 🤣

A little taste of Shanghai in Newark, DE 🥟✨

I don’t think I will ever stop loving Nan Xiang - from Brooklyn to Queens and now in Delaware, I have always had one near me and hope I always will!

My last meal there ranged from their signature Lucky Six which is a sampler of their popular soup dumplings and a frequent go-to of mine, and the spicy beef soup dumplings which might be a new favorite, to a tangy mustard green fish noodle soup, a brand new black sesame dessert, and SO much more.

And getting to peek into the kitchen and watch the dumplings being made by hand? Easily one of my favorite parts. 👀

Reporting for Burger Battle duty. 🍔🫡

I had the absolute pleasure yesterday of joining the judging panel for this year’s Delaware Burger Battle, where some of Delaware’s best restaurants went head to head, spatula to grill, to see who could build a burger worthy of taking home the title.

From creative toppings and unexpected flavor combinations to some seriously solid classics, there was a LOT to taste, score, debate, and somehow find room for.

This is such a fun Delaware event that brings together local restaurants, great food, and a whole lot of people who take burgers very seriously… all while supporting a great cause, because ALL proceeds support local causes including Food Bank of Delaware ✨

Huge congratulations to everyone who competed, and this year’s People’s Choice and Critics’ Choice winners! 🏆🍔

You spin me right round baby right round ✨

If it feels like the room is moving, that’s because it actually is. You’re not drunk. I mean you might be, and technically the room doesn’t move, but the bar certainly does. Not fast enough to spin you off like a tilt-a-whirl, but you will get a 360 view as you enjoy your cocktail.

Circulo Bar is a new concept at Bally's Dover Casino Resort, taking you for a slow, gentle spin that you’ll barely notice until you look up and realize your whole view of the casino has changed.

It definitely confused my brain a little, at first it just felt like vertigo setting in because your brain almost isn’t sure the movement is real yet. But after a couple of minutes I got used to it and kind of enjoyed the ride.

Did I just find the best new ramen spot in Dover? 🍜

When I saw that a new ramen spot was opening so dangerously close to my humble abode, I nearly lost my s**t. I couldn’t wait to shove some soupy noodles in my face.

For the unassuming outdoor shopping center Bowl & Noodles is hiding in, my friend and I were pleasantly surprised by the chic, cozy interior. We perused the menu with hungry bellies and a little bit of skepticism when we saw the range of their menu, which was so much more than just ramen. They had pho, sushi, stir fry, and treasures galore!

BUT… was it any good?? 👀

After trying pretty much the entire menu, I can confidently say… I will be haunting this place, perhaps in both life and death, because literally everything was delicious.

The Ramen was rich and flavorful, as was the Pho which had a nice aromatic quality. The sushi and sashimi tasted fresh, and I was in love with the onigiri. The stir fry wasn’t my thing, but my friend loved it - in fact that was her favorite dish of the night.

Basically, everything was solid 💯 except for the soup, which was… in fact… liquid. Less so when I took it home and put it in the fridge, it solidified to a gel state characteristic of a properly made bone broth which I was super impressed by. Regardless of its phase of matter, I enjoyed it all the same.

And of course, boba… is a necessity. Without bubble tea your meal is simply incomplete.🧋

Its the Hard Yarder life for me 😎

This summer Crooked Hammock Brewery released several new flavors of their Hard Yarders, including the return of Rocket Pop. ❤️🤍💙

The new lineup also includes Blue Berry Citrus (my personal fav), Pink Lemonade, and Rainbow Sherbet.

Having a sensitive tum, I’m actually kind of obsessed with these because I can throw em’ back like it’s my college days.

And of course, Crooked Hammocks food is always just as on point as their drinks, and I thoroughly enjoyed the summer specials such as the Street Corn Shrimp, Sway Stuffed Oysters, Tajin Watermelon Salad, Crab Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, and the S’moreo Brownie which blew me away. Brown butter graham cracker crust on a brownie? I really thought it would be too over the top but now I find myself craving more.

Anyway, grab the Hard Yarders while you can, summers almost over! But not yet… so stay sunny. 😎☀️

You can compete in a GAME SHOW in Newark, DE?! 👀

At no point in your life should you ever stop being a kid at heart. That’s why I love places like Lefty's Alley and Eats - Newark where you get to play and have fun but with boozy drinks 💕

Their first location was in Rehoboth Beach, and now they’ve opened their second establishment in Newark right near (or kind of in?) The Grove At Newark 🎊

AND THEY HAVE A GAME SHOW STUDIO?! Anyone can go, line up and play, compete in random competitions on the spot, spin the wheel and get ready for your next challenge!

I’ll be honest, the air conditioning made the day challenging for me and this sweaty girl did not have the strength 😂 but NEXT TIME I’m so f*cking game. 🙌
