✨ Honoring My Sister, My Hero — Happy Birthday, Glynis Marie Boyce ✨

Today holds so many emotions for me. It’s Veterans Day, and it’s also the day my beautiful sister, my best friend, and my greatest champion was born.

Today, on Veterans Day, I celebrate the life and legacy of my sister, Glynis Marie Boyce, a proud member of the United States Air Force, my best friend, and one of the greatest influences on the woman and leader I’ve become.

Glynis represented trust, safety, and authenticity. She believed in me, encouraged me, and gave me space to be fully myself. Her unwavering faith in who I was becoming continues to inspire how I lead and how I serve others.

When I lost her, the grief was overwhelming. Yet, from that place of pain was born Coming Out of the Dark Podcast, a platform I created in her honor to transform loss into light, and to remind others that even in dark seasons, purpose still calls.

Today I honor her birthday, her service, and her legacy.

There are moments in leadership when the real lesson isn’t found in words, it’s in awareness. You start to recognize shifts in energy, subtle dynamics, and unspoken cues that test your composure.

As leaders, we quickly learn that not every moment requires a reaction. Sometimes wisdom looks like silence, and growth looks like staying grounded while you observe the room.

But these lessons aren’t limited to the boardroom. They show up in our relationships, in our conversations, and even in how we handle disappointment. Learning when to speak, when to pause, and when to release is part of the leadership journey both personally and professionally.

Discernment teaches you when to listen, when to move, and when to simply let people reveal who they are. These are the lessons that shape emotional intelligence, refine presence, and strengthen purpose.

Lesson learned: Protect your peace, stay focused on the mission, and lead with quiet authority even when the energy shifts around you.
