It’s that time of year and now it’s an entire weekend!! Go to www.401gives.org You can enter your town and search a “cause”!! it is mine blowing how many amazing organizations we have on this island, serving our community in so many different areas: What speaks to your heart and soul?? There’s a local non-profit organization for it…Animals? Arts and Culture? Disability Services? Disaster Relief? Education? Environment? Family? Health and Wellness? Homelessness? LGBTQ+? Poverty and Hunger? Racial Equity? Seniors? Social Justice? Substance abuse? Veterans? Women’s Issues??

This is always a fun event for such a great cause. provides education opportunities for high risk low income children who have a parent with a history of incarceration and/or substance abuse. Children typically enroll between kindergarten and grade 4, and the goal is for the child to graduate from high school and hopefully go on to higher education. Get your tickets and your best Derby hat to show your support!! It’s a high energy event!! Follow to learn more

launched their new Cox Innovation Lab at the Florence Gray Center Clubhouse. Former New England Patriots and Super Bowl champion Malcolm Mitchell was there for the official announcement! These labs provide students with access to advance computer literacy skills and help bridge the digital divide for children without access to Internet at home. New technology includes podcasting equipment that’s a big hit with the kids! Exposure to this type of technology increases earning potential for STEM related occupations. Thanks to a grant from the James M. Cox foundation
