COM Aquatics' Ethan Hamontree has committed to swim and study at Southern Methodist University.

Hamontree is the seventh athlete from COM Aquatics to commit to a college program this year.

He started with COM in the developmental groups, where he learned the basics of swimming. Over the years, he worked hard, improved steadily, and now trains with the club’s top group.

“Ethan Hamontree signs with SMU not by accident, but by years of steady work,” COM Aquatics Executive Director Jenna Purkey said.

Other recent COM Aquatics commits include Harper Diaz (Ouachita Baptist University), David Fuentes (Ouachita Baptist University), Cora Retzer (Austin College); Isabel Baley (University of Tennessee), Keni Hemboldt (Florida State) and Hannah Krueger (Texas A&M).
