It's a common misconception that following God's law is a burdensome and legalistic act, but this is a misunderstanding of its true purpose. The law is not meant to confine us but to guide us toward a life of love and freedom. As it is written, love fulfills the law, directing our lives and actions. While love is our primary guide, we cannot always rely on our feelings alone, as our hearts can sometimes lead us astray. This is where God's law becomes a gift. The law provides us with discernment, a spiritual compass that helps us distinguish not just between right and wrong, but between what is genuinely right and what is "almost right"—a subtle but crucial difference.

The written law provides a clear, unwavering path of righteousness, acting as a lamp and a light for our feet. In a world full of distractions and temptations that try to pull us away, the law sets the boundaries that keep us on the path of truth. When we walk in love, we do so within the loving boundaries established by God's law. This ensures our steps are sure, preventing us from stumbling and falling away from the righteousness we seek. God's law is not a set of rigid rules but a beautiful expression of His will, providing a clear map for a life lived fully in love.

A Call to Walk as Jesus Walked

The Bible calls us to a radical way of life, one that is not just spoken but lived. As it says in 1 John 2:6, "He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked."

Jesus walked a path of perfect obedience and selfless love. He fulfilled the law's righteous demands, not so we could be complacent, but because we couldn't. He paid the ultimate price we could never afford, not to free us for a life of selfish desires, but to set us free to truly live.

If we claim to follow Jesus, our lives must reflect that profession. We are called to walk the path He walked, following in His footsteps. It’s a journey of faith that is proven not by our words, but by our actions.

The Apostle Paul spoke a powerful truth in Titus 1:16: "They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him." This serves as a powerful reminder that our faith is made visible through our deeds.

So, let this be your inspiration: Are you following in the footsteps of Jesus, or are you walking a different path? The choice is always yours, and the call to follow is a call to a life of purpose and profound meaning.

Jesus shared a parable about two men who went to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood alone, praying, 'God, I thank you that I'm not like others - robbers, evildoers, adulterers - or even this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' In contrast, the tax collector stood at a distance, beating his breast and saying, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' Jesus emphasized that the tax collector, rather than the Pharisee, returned home justified before God.

This teaches us that when we approach God with humility, we open ourselves to His exalting power in our life.

So, when you come before God, who do you aspire to be? Do you humble yourself before God, and admit your downfalls, or do you tell God of your great accomplishments in the Gospel Mission?

"Come, follow me," Jesus declared to his disciples, "and I will send you out to fish for people." This profound statement wasn't just an invitation; it was a powerful commissioning, transforming their very purpose. No longer would they cast nets for fish; their new calling was to draw souls into the abundant life found in God's Kingdom.

To be a "fishers of men" is to embrace the divine mission Jesus entrusted to his apostles: to go forth and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to live in obedience to His transformative teachings. It's a call to actively participate in God's redemptive work in the world.

We, too, can become "fishers of men" by embodying His love and living out the good works we were destined for. This means extending a hand to the hungry, comforting the sick, and caring for the elderly—demonstrating God's compassion through tangible acts of service. We are called to be beacons of hope, radiating the light of Christ into the lives of those who surround us that are dwelling in spiritual darkness.

Our distinctiveness emerges as we walk in obedience to God's laws and commandments. This is a commitment to holiness—to being set apart—is what truly distinguishes us. Just as our Father in heaven is holy, so too are we called to reflect His sacred nature of Holiness, by becoming living testaments to His grace and drawing others irresistibly towards His glorious light.

Proverbs 6:23
"For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life."

The Apostle Paul tells us in Timothy 3:15-17 that from Scripture we receive Reproof and instruction in righteousness. A direct reference to The Law Of God.

This is how we are to live our life, this is the Way of Life not just according to the Apostle Paul, But King Solomon also said it in Proverbs 6:23

So let me ask you this: Is God's Word, his Law and Commandments where you get your guidance in how you live your life and make your decisions? If Not then where do you get it from. for we also know that God says thru the Apostle Paul:

1 Corinthians 1:25
"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men."

So let me ask again, where do you get your guidance from in your life?

Matthew 13:45-46: "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

The parable of the pearl of great price highlights a pivotal moment: the discovery of something of ultimate value. The merchant's possessions, his identity, and his entire life's ambition become secondary. In the light of the pearl's immense worth, everything else is re-evaluated as an obstacle to be removed and not a treasure worth keeping.

This act of selling everything is a powerful statement of belief. It shows a complete surrender and a total commitment to what has been found. It's a willingness to let go of what you have and what you want, in order to gain a true relationship with the creator. This is the change that is inspired by the parable: a life that is so compelled by the worth of the pearl that nothing else holds a claim on your heart.

John 4:20 says, "If anyone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.".

This scripture reveals a profound and inescapable truth: love for God is proven by love for others. You cannot say you love the invisible God if you do not love your visible brother. One is not separate from the other; they are a single, interconnected command.

To love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind is not a stand-alone act of devotion. It is made real and tangible it is brought to its fulfillment through loving your neighbor as yourself. The second commandment is not a lesser task or command, but the very proof of the first. The fruit of your love for God is the way you love others, and without that fruit, the root is not alive.

Look in the mirror. Who do you see? Now, let's go deeper. Who do your friends and coworkers see? The truth is, your life is an open book for them to read. You can talk all day about following Christ, but they are looking at how you walk, not how you talk.

1 John 2:6 is a gut check for all of us. It lovingly confronts the disconnect between what we say and what we do. You see, claiming to live in Christ isn't enough; you're called to walk as He walked.

1 John 2:6: "He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked."

So I'm asking you, with all the love of Christ: Does your life—your actions, your choices, your attitude—truly reflect His? The world is watching, not just your words, but for the living image of Jesus in you.

Consider for a moment what it would mean to truly live by "every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Like Jesus told Satan in the Wilderness If we were to take that command literally, to bring our entire life—our every action, our every belief—and every thought into full submission and subjection to His truth and His Word.

Paul’s powerful words in 2 Corinthians 10:5 challenge us to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. If we actually lived this way, what kind of relationship would we forge with Jesus? How would that impact our daily life?

To be a follower of Jesus is to make a profound choice, and this choice has two sides, like a coin.

On one side of the coin is counting the cost of what following Jesus truly means: (Luke 14:28-33). This is the sober and intentional decision to commit your entire life to Him. It's about understanding that following Jesus isn't a partial commitment; it's a total one that requires you to be willing to give up everything to walk with Him.

On the other side of the coin is dying to yourself (Luke 9:23-24). This is the daily practice of that commitment. It means surrendering your own will, desires, and ambitions, and taking up your cross to follow Him. It is in this daily surrender—this act of "losing" your old life for His sake—that you truly begin to live.
