WINTER WEATHER ALERT! From the WFON 40 Skywatch Weather Center, The National Weather Service has Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings. If you are in the yellow, you are in the Advisory and if you are in the Red, you are in the Warning. If you live in the County issued from Detroit's Office, both Advisories and Warnings issued from 3 PM tomorrow until 10 AM Sunday Morning. Grand Rapids Office issued from 7 AM tomorrow until 10 AM Sunday, longer duration alert and the snow is coming from the Southwest too. If you are in the Ga***rd Zone you are all in Winter Weather Advisories issued from 4 PM Tomorrow until 1 PM Sunday. Wherever you are in the listening area, you are in some kind of Winter Weather Alert. Expect 4-10 Inches with this system and Heavy Wet Snow due to Temperatures in the 30s throughout this storm. The photo on the right shows the distance of out 97.1 Distance Tower from Sanford. Each zone is the reception of our station. The red means local, Purple means Distant and Blue means Fringe. You may not get reception in some areas if you live in the Distant area at times due to the heavy snow at the tower. The Station will be limited to 15 miles due to the cloud cover and low visibility. When there is low visibility, there is low reception for radio. We are posting this because If you live in the Distant area, there is a possibilty of not getting good reception. If you want better reception in the Distant area, you might want to get to highest floor in your house or appartment and at the window. This means if you live in towns like Mount Pleasant, Saginaw, Alma, Clare or Gladwin area, that is what we mean. Thank you and be safe in the Winter Storm Tomorrow.
