We Are Not The Tolerant Left Any Longer
Fascism is on the march in America. The one thing a tolerant society cannot condone is intolerance.
It is Germany 1933 in America Right Now.
You long since should have picked your side. There are only two sides here.
Patriotism, American ideals of Freedom, Liberty and Equality, and religious freedom on the one hand.
Or
Treason, the abandonment of all human rights, and religious theocracy with Trump. Rule by the corporations for the good of the very rich. The tripping away of rights from women and minorities. Violence abounding.
If you ever wondered what you would have done during the Holocaust, look in the mirror. Whatever it is you are doing now is the answer.
Are you fighting for the lofty ideals of our Constitution, or do you want authoritarian religious rule? Choose now.
1. Moral Opposition to Oppression: Fascism promotes authoritarianism, racism, and intolerance, which fundamentally conflict with the Left's commitment to equality and human rights.
2. Defense of Democracy: Fascism undermines democratic institutions and processes, whereas the Left prioritizes the preservation and enhancement of democracy.
3. Poppers Paradox of Tolerance: According to Karl Popper, unlimited tolerance leads to the disappearance of tolerance. To maintain a tolerant society, it must be intolerant of intolerance.
4. Protection of Minorities: The Left advocates for the rights and protection of minority groups, which are often targets of fascist ideologies.
5. Promotion of Social Justice: The Left's goal of social justice is incompatible with the hierarchical and exclusionary nature of fascism.
6. Historical Lessons: Historical experiences, such as the rise of N**i Germany, demonstrate the catastrophic consequences of allowing fascism to grow unchecked.
7. Human Dignity: The Left believes in the inherent dignity of all individuals, which fascism directly attacks through its dehumanizing policies.
8. Preventing Violence: Fascism often incites violence against marginalized groups, and the Left aims to prevent such violence and promote peace.
9. Economic Equity: The Left seeks to address economic disparities, while fascism typically exacerbates them through policies that benefit the elite.
10. Global Solidarity: The Left values international cooperation and solidarity, which fascism disrupts through its nationalist and xenophobic agendas.
11. Free Expression: Fascism suppresses free speech and dissent, while the Left supports the protection of free expression and open debate.
12. Ethical Governance: The Left advocates for ethical governance and accountability, in stark contrast to the corrupt and autocratic nature of fascist regimes.
