By trade, I'm a dog trainer, which is really just a polite way of saying I’m a professional chaos wrangler. shenanigans and a body that has roughly the same warranty as a vintage van (which I also have). I've learned that a "normal life" is a boring myth, and I'm far more interested in building a life that actually works for my brain and body, not against them. So, how do I navigate it all? By keeping my hands busy so my brain doesn't spontaneously combust and managing my body more than a brand new employee. My brand of therapy involves stabbing wool repeatedly with very sharp needles (they call it felting), wrangling yarn into submission (crochet), negotiating with my tiny bee overlords, and coaxing things to grow in the garden. It’s all about finding tangible ways to ground myself when the internal and external worlds get way too loud. If you’re looking for Pinterest perfect aesthetics and filtered reality, you’ve taken a wrong turn. But if you're here for the authentic, the absurd, and the sometimes sweary journey of it all, from dog training debacles and cooking experiments to the messy, beautiful reality of living a creative life with a chaotic mind and body, then welcome. Pull up a chair, it's about to get messy and weird.

"Readers are advised to remember that the devil is a liar"

The quote may be old, but it's certainly not biblical. It's one thats theme has echoed through time. Sometimes the devil comes dressed in a fancy suit, sometimes he comes with the appearance of a helping hand... And sometimes, he comes dressed as a master of behavioral science and the architect of the modern day internet.

The algorithm is your new drug dealer, getting you high on poisonous unending rage bait. It's the digital dumpsterfire of a feed you doom scroll through, and it's engineered to move right past thinking brain, do not pass go, do not collect $200, and straight to engaging your lizard brain.

The devil's new business model is a very profitable lie: if we disagree, you're not just wrong, you're no longer my neighbor and you are evil. Left or right doesn't matter to him.

They mine your anger for data, condition venomous responses, put a leash on your nervous system, and laugh all the way to the bank each time they yank on the leash.

So grow a goddamn spine. "Check the facts" isnt some fluffy "good vibes only" nonsense. It’s a practical, behavioral tool for refusing to be their product. It’s the blade you use to cut the leash. Yes, when you disagree or aren't sure of something, but ALSO when you're certain you're right. They're tricking you in both directions.

This is a declaration of war for your own mind, but you are not the only soldier. Every person who refuses the bait, who chooses sanity over the scroll, helps tear a hole in their net. They cannot profit from our peace. They cannot build an empire on our empathy. Every leash we cut weakens the hand that holds them all.

It's time to starve the devil. Lord knows sometimes I forget and feed him cookies too. But we have to get better if we're going to make it out alive.

yay! it's one of my caking days. sometimes, even yarn that is already caked needs re caking, especially if it was done by my old winder. my new winder does a much better job
