HELLO IT IS THE WEEKEND AND I AM ONCE AGAIN EATING PIZZA ON A STRANGER’S LAWN NEXT TO AN ABSURDLY LARGE SKELETON! I found this patriotic wonder in Davisburg, MI and stopped by to share an extremely American slice.

With another weekend in the books, this is the final Michigan skelly I’ll see for quite some time. On Friday, I’m pointing my truck west and hitting the road to get THE SUMMER OF THE SLICE rolling. See ya soon, pizza people!

No change on the “All 50 States” goal this week, but we are rapidly closing in on the halfway point of the “All 52 Weekends” goal 😮

Preparations for an epic road trip are underway as I’m rapidly approaching my departure date. I truly cannot wait to travel the country, meet some fellow Pizza People, and hang out with giant skellies. It’s officially THE SUMMER OF THE SLICE, and it is going to be epic.

HELLO IT IS THE WEEKEND AND I AM ONCE AGAIN EATING PIZZA ON A STRANGER’S LAWN NEXT TO AN ABSURDLY LARGE SKELETON!

This weekend was tryout weekend, which marks the official end of my soccer season each year… and that means THE SUMMER OF THE SLICE IS OFFICIALLY HERE!!! And what better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than with a photo next to a skelly rocking a swimsuit and pool floatie? Special thanks to absolute legend Elliott who was very excited to pop into this weekend’s skelly pic with me 😂

I am so excited to hit the road and start checking off states, skellies and slices all around the country! I’ve got a few loose ends to tie up around here over the next couple weeks, then it’s skele-tour time!

Thank you so much to Kelsi Klein who wrote this article about my skelly hunt for Canton Today! She managed to capture the essence of my quest without making me seem like a complete lunatic, which is not easy to do.

I grew up in Canton, and after learning that this magazine is distributed to all Canton residents, I seriously hope all my middle school teachers are alive and well and that they still live in Canton. I’m sure they’ll experience an intense feeling of validation when they read this article and find out that I turned out just as weird as they predicted I would!

🇺🇸 Eat Pizza on a stranger’s lawn next to an absurdly large skeleton in all 50 states in 2026: 14/50

📅 Eat pizza on a stranger’s lawn next to an absurdly large skeleton on all 52 weekends of 2026: 23/52

No new states this week, but I did get take one step closer to the halfway point of the “All 52 Weekends” goal. And I’m closing in on my departure date for what is sure to be the most epic giant skelly hunt the world has ever seen.

My favorite question I’ve been getting lately: “How are you getting to Hawaii?” My favorite response: “Probably not driving!” 🤓

HELLO IT IS THE WEEKEND AND I AM ONCE AGAIN EATING PIZZA ON A STRANGER’S LAWN NEXT TO AN ABSURDLY LARGE SKELETON!

I coached my last soccer games of the 2025-26 season today. Endings are always hard, but this one was particularly bittersweet…

The sweet: this was one of the most successful years of my coaching career. My teams combined to break multiple club records, including the first time in club history that four teams advanced to the State Cup/Jr. State Cup Knockout Rounds in the same season, and the first time in club history that we claimed the Jr. State Cup trophy. All of my teams took home multiple medals this year and represented the club proudly.

The bitter: US Soccer is changing their age group ranges for next year, which will split virtually all of my rosters in half as players are redistributed into different age groups. This decision has caused a lot of heartache as many players who have been teammates for years fall on opposite ends of the new cutoff dates.

While it was hard to close the book on the 2025-26 season, I’m looking forward to hitting the road soon to hunt down skellies and catch my breath a bit after an absolutely insane year of soccer. With my departure date closing in, today’s skelly was one of the last Michigan skellies I’ll see for quite some time.

In that sense, today was an ending… but it was also one day closer to a new beginning. See ya soon, pizza people.
