A Start Of More To Come...
Two brothers, Christopher and Nicholas Pilon, had a vision to create a student media organization on Northwood University’s campus. Why? Because they believed that giving students the resources to create video content would provide an opportunity for them to highlight their achievements while enrolled at NU. Timby Media started in 2014 with cellphones and whatever software students had on their computers to edit. 3 years later in 2018, Timby Media achieved funding from their fellow Alumni through Northwood University’s “Alumni Project 100”. The funding was enough to purchase professional Sony cameras and audio recording equipment. Since then, the organization developed a branch off of Timby Media called Timby Student Network (TSN). The TSN team focuses on producing journalistic video content about campus events and related topics. Timby Media believes that learning all aspects of video production is very valuable in the business world. The projects produced under Timby Media generate an amazing array of work that students can incorporate into their own visual portfolios. There are applications in areas of creativity, marketing, advertising and leadership that are implemented on every project. We hope our audience will encourage and support the organization in what it stands for and the amazing content that will continue to be produced.
