Hi despite a ‘slight detour’ I’m still determined to build and grow my private practice. In fact now more than ever I believe I can serve as a beacon of hope and a resource for people going through cancer or who are on the other side of treatments and need to HEAL AND RESTORE their bodies. So stay tuned to this space for more insights, and more importantly how we can heal together

What I know and realize, is that going through cancer treatments, despite a similar diagnosis is intensely personal.
So here are some things that I am learning that help me.

🤔It can be distracting and sometimes discouraging to compare your journey to what you see other’s posting on social media.
🛑I’ve also made a personal decision not to join any groups that focus on cancer treatment as I feel that can be very triggering.
🥱I’m doing all I can to recognize that during periods of fatigue I need to give myself more grace. This is very challenging for me however I’m also learning that it only slows down my recovery.

🩺Having been a physician, I have always seen myself as a caregiver and not want to receive care. However, being willing and able to accept support has been one of my greatest lessons through this journey. It’s amazing the number of people have reached out to check on me, support me without judgment. For this, I am grateful.🙏🏾

📅Another important lesson I’m learning is that I can’t plan for 5 to 10 year future. Rather, I’m learning to take it one day at a time. That doesn’t mean I don’t intend to be here over the next 5 to 10 years, but really learning to be in the present moment has been priceless.

🫶🏾I strive to practice gratitude on a daily basis and this practice helps me to not focus on the unknown but realize that there’s so much right here, right now to be thankful for.
