Next semester enroll ment is here. If you are a film student, this highlight might be of interest to you.

This course is about horror films and is taught by Marcus Mallard. Professor Mallard is a published horror scholar whose work focuses on the American Dream, identity, and formal aspects of horror movies. He is also the co-chair for Horror (Literary, Text, and Culture) for the National Popular Culture Association.

The course will explore the history of the horror genre from early literature to the modern horror film. Students will look closely at each decade and discuss how the horror genre helps process the fears of the times.
The final will be a creative project where students can make a short, write a short script, create a character design, or create a special effect makeup.
