In an effort to help with rumors and questions about Rakk Solid Waste and their pickups, we reached out to them directly. Their statement and information is below. If you have any questions, please reach out to them directly. They’ve also put an office right beside the Mayor’s office at 1205 Main Street.
“In addition to the weekly curbside pick-up of Waste and Refuse, RSW will provide Residential Bulk Waste and Residential Bulk Yard Waste pick-ups for Residential Units.
Guidelines
Residential Bulk Waste: Discarded furniture, appliances with compressors removed, and other similar items with a weight greater than fifty (50) pounds and/or a volume greater than ninety to ninety-six (90-96) gallons, which is the size of a Polycart used for Municipal Collection Service.
Residential Bulk Yard Waste: All tree trimmings, dead trees, or branches thereof, grass cuttings, garden trimmings, weeds and roots from which all dirt has been removed.
Maximum Load: All eligible Bulk Waste/Bulk Yard Waste pick-ups must be no greater than five (5) feet high by eight (8) feet long by five (5) feet
Household wastes, such as food waste, bottles, wastepaper, cans, clothing, and general refuse should not be comingled with Residential Bulk Waste.
Residential Bulk Yard Waste must not consist of limbs or trunks that are longer than eight (8) feet or more than twelve (12) inches in diameter.
No Residential Bulk Waste or Residential Bulk Yard Waste pick-up will be provided unless the bulk waste originated from the residential unit and the unit must be occupied.
Vacant property where no monthly fee has been paid by a Residential Unit for Municipal Collection Service does not qualify residential special collections.
