“Michelle, why aren’t you creating?”

Well… because in order to create, I would first need to locate my desk. 😂

I have approximately 63 projects going on at once, piles of things I’m going to do something amazing with, things I’m sorting, things I’m selling, things I’m saving, and things I apparently thought needed to live directly in the middle of my workspace.
My studio has officially become a project parking lot. 🤦‍♀️

And the best part? You can’t even see the bad parts in this picture. 😂

So before I do anything else, I think my next creative project needs to be… finding the table.
Please tell me I’m not the only creative person whose workspace occasionally reaches this level of creative abundance. 😂

Anyone else have a bazillion projects started and absolutely nowhere left to work on any of them?

Okay, vintage-loving friends… I HAVE to share this page with you! 🤎

If you love decorating with vintage and antique pieces and you aren’t following her yet, you absolutely need to go take a peek. The inspiration on her page is seriously mind-blowing.

She has such a beautiful way of taking old, collected pieces and working them into her home. Nothing feels overly styled or “decorated.” It feels collected, layered, loved, and completely unique.

And those CLOCK FACES!!! 🕰️😍
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way she has all those old clock faces traveling across the wall. The different sizes, colors, ages, and those tiny little ones tucked into the empty spaces... I can’t stop looking at it!

And now, of course, she has sent me down another rabbit hole. 😂 I happen to have that little honey hole where an "old clock maker lives" (at least that's what I tell myself), and you better believe I’ll be paying that little corner a visit to see what old faces, hands, gears and clock parts might be tucked away!

This is why I love vintage so much. Something that could easily be forgotten in a dusty old box can become the most incredible piece of art in the right setting.

Just look at these old beauties. ❤️

These are bound volumes of St. Nicholas, one of America's most beloved children's magazines. It began publication in 1873 and was created to give children something all their own: wonderful stories, poetry, illustrations, puzzles, history and glimpses of the world.

Some pretty famous names appeared in it's pages over the years, including Louisa May Alcott, Mark Twain, Frances Hodgson Burnett and Rudyard Kipling.

The magazine was originally published monthly, and issues were often gathered together and bound into these beautiful hardcover volumes. The ones in this stack date from the early 1900s, with several now around 120 years old!

I can’t help but wonder about all the little hands that once held these books and the children who waited for each new issue. More than 100 years later, they’re still here, still beautiful, and still telling their stories.

And now they've somehow (😉😂)made their way here. ❤️

Finally decorated for fall. 🍂🤎

Okay…maybe decorated is a bit of a stretch. 😂

But these sweet little pumpkins made from scraps of an old hobnail bedspread have officially made their way out for the season.

A little old textile, some tattered fibers, and vintage silverware for the stems…and suddenly those leftover scraps have a whole new life.

This is EXACTLY why I have such a hard time throwing old textiles away. There is almost always one more story hiding in the scraps.

Some of you may remember the Daisy Treasure Box.

I've chatted a bit in passing about bringing her back for quite a while, but I knew if I did, I wanted to do it a little differently this time.

I love my live sales, and they're not going anywhere. But I've realized that one of my favorite things is choosing something and thinking...

“I KNOW EXACTLY WHO WOULD LOVE THIS!” ❤️

And that's what I want the Daisy Treasure Box to become.

Instead of me holding up treasures during a sale and hoping the right person happens to be watching at the right moment, I want to get to know you.

Your style.
Your favorite colors.
What you collect.
What you create.
The things you're always hunting for and the little vintage treasures that make your heart pitter-pat.

You'll fill out a Treasure Profile, and then I get to do what I love most...treasure hunt with you in mind. 🛍️

Every Daisy Treasure Box will be different. Antique papers and ephemera, old textiles, lace and trims, wallpaper, buttons, sewing notions, keys, charms and wonderful little bits and bobbles...but chosen specifically for the person opening that box.
I want opening your Daisy Treasure Box each month to feel less like receiving something you ordered and more like giving yourself a beautiful gift that someone chose just for you.

The Daisy Treasure Box returns in October.

Saturday morning Live Sale!

A little peek at what I’ve been playing with this week… 🌿

This weekend I’m heading up to Washington, New Hampshire to teach at a camping art retreat, and these are some of my samples drying in the sunshine. 🌞

We’ll be eco-dyeing a fun jumble of old linens, lace, textiles and antique papers using botanicals, bits from nature and a few unexpected ingredients. I absolutely love that you never quite know what you’re going to get until those bundles are opened. The stains, shadows, rusty marks, soft color and perfectly imperfect surprises are my favorite part.

And then, of course, we get to make something with all of it. 🧵🪡

I’m really looking forward to spending the weekend in the woods, creating, experimenting and seeing what everyone’s bundles reveal.
