I set these FolkArt paints down after my trip to Hobby Lobby today and couldn’t help but smile… these soft pinks and greens feel like the gentle and soft side of winter — the kind that pairs perfectly with an old beat up quilt, a warm cup of hot chocolate, and a quiet afternoon of creating. ❄️☕🌿

There’s just something about vintage colors in December… calming, nostalgic, and a little bit whimsical.

If you were to make something with this palette for the winter season, what would it be?

✨ A little vintage magic memory ✨

I found a few inexpensive ornaments a couple years ago and decided to give them a fresh, nostalgic glow — a soft Jadite-inspired makeover!

All it took was a little Apple Barrel craft paint in Spring Green and suddenly these simple pieces look like they came straight out of a 1940s kitchen cupboard. I love how that dreamy, milky green plays with lace, old book pages, and all my favorite tattered bits.

It’s such an easy, budget-friendly project… and the transformation is so satisfying. Looking back on my FB memories of these, is tempting me to paint a whole tree’s worth! 🎄💚

What do you think — should I do a full Jadite Christmas theme this year?

✨A little playtime!✨

After our Daisy Society session on Monday, I just couldn’t help myself… I kept right on playing! 🎨 The inspiration was flowing, so out came the French ledgers, antique photos, gilding flakes, bits of paper ephemera, and a few embossing folders. Oh my heart — what a joyful, creative mess it turned into! 💕

Sometimes the best ideas come when you simply keep going.

90 years ago, this sweet little girl was on the cover of The Household Magazine.

There’s something so tender about these old illustrations — the muted colors, the simple joy of sewing, and the quiet reminder of how creativity has always been part of everyday life. 💕

Can’t you just imagine this on a kitchen table, read over a cup of coffee?

✨ Love & Tattered Journal Workshop ✨

This sweet little project was originally planned for the October Meet & Greet, but I chose to stay home with my mom to be sure she was safe and cared for. ❤️

For those who purchased a kit, we turned it into a virtual experience! Each box was lovingly filled to the brim with antique papers, textiles, ephemera, and tiny treasures.

Even when plans change, beauty can still unfold in the most unexpected ways. 🌸

These little shoes have traveled with me from box to box, hope chest to hope chest, house to house for 38 years… always tucked away, too full of memories to let go of, yet too precious to just sit in the dark.

They belonged to my sweet blue eyed, blonde curly-headed boy— scuffed, tattered, with a tiny hole in the toe and a whole lot of love and time tucked inside.

I always tell you to take those sentimental pieces and create something new — to give old memories a fresh way to shine. And it’s high time I listen to my own advice.

What would you do with something like this? How would you honor a memory that’s been quietly waiting for its next chapter?
