We are in full swing over here on Root Collar Excavations! We are in Milford working on Oak Pointe Church Milford's trees and found a CLASSIC example of a girdling root. When trees are planted too deep or mulched incorrectly. Roots grow up and around instead of out. This significantly restricts the flow of nutrients throughout the tree. You can almost hear the tree's sigh of relief when this bad boy was removed!

Had a great time performing a structural clearance trim in Milford MI!

We are often approached to remove large branches / leads that are extending over houses. This is rarely the best path forward and likely increases the risk to your house for the following reasons:

1) Every cut is wounding the tree

2) the larger the cut, the less likely the tree is able to compartmentalize (heal) the wound

3) The inability to compartmentalize (heal) increases the risk of rot and decay, disease and infections, and pest infestation

4) Rot and decay, disease and infection, and pest infestations increases the overall risk a tree poses to a house.
