Folks on Spokes & Step Forward Ride + Walk for Mental Health
Sunday, September 14, 2025 in Milford
Cycle or walk in Bridges Healthcare’s 34th annual Folks on Spokes & Step Forward event on 9/14 from 8 am to 2 pm at Fowler Field in downtown Milford. Cyclists of all levels and ages can bike our 5, 10, 20 and 40 mile routes or walkers can enjoy the scenic 5K.
This family-friendly event includes activities for kids, music, lunch and a special remembrance ceremony to honor lives lost to su***de and overdose.
Early registration discounts are available through 8/17. After that, advanced registration fees are $50 per cyclist, $35 per walker, $15 for kids under 18 (includes a free T-shirt). Children 6 and under are free.

This week, the Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to highlight the Walnut Beach Arts And Business Association (WABABA) as our Business of the Week.
Since its founding in 2010, WABABA has played a key role in revitalizing the Walnut Beach neighborhood, helping it grow into one of Milford’s most vibrant and welcoming areas. As a dedicated nonprofit, WABABA brings together residents, local businesses, and volunteers to build a stronger, more connected community.

Through initiatives like neighborhood clean-up days, scholarships for local high school seniors, and seasonal events such as their popular Zombie 5K, WABABA fosters civic pride, encourages collaboration, and strengthens the bond between arts and commerce.

WABABA also hosts monthly community meetings that are open to the public—giving neighbors a voice and a chance to take part in shaping the future of Walnut Beach. Their efforts in beautification, local partnerships, and volunteer engagement continue to make a lasting impact throughout the year.
