Me: “I’m only buying one.”

Also me: 🌼🌼🍂😂

I walked through a field of flowers while listening to the thing that once terrified me.👩🏻‍🦯🎶 Growth isn’t reaching a place where nothing triggers you.

It’s noticing your nervous system sounding the alarm… and gently reminding it that not every alarm means you’re in danger.

The bees still buzzed.
My heart still raced.
But this time, I didn’t abandon myself.

I stayed.
I breathed.
I trusted.
I found joy anyway.

Maybe that’s what healing really is🧘🏻‍♀️not becoming fearless, but becoming present enough to let fear stop sitting in the driver’s seat.
🌻 One of my biggest phobias is bees.

That fear didn’t come out of nowhere. As I started losing my vision, the unpredictability of not always knowing where a bee was became terrifying. There were times I was stung because I couldn’t see them, and over time my nervous system began to associate the sound of buzzing with danger.

So walking into a sunflower field wasn’t just walking among flowers🫂it was walking straight into a fear I’d carried for years.

Every buzz made my body want to leave. But instead of running, I slowed my breathing, stayed grounded, and reminded myself that fear didn’t have to make the decision for me. My husband stayed patiently with me, letting me move at my own pace, and that made all the difference.

By the end, my hands were in the air🌤️not because I wasn’t afraid anymore, but because I proved to myself that I could experience joy without letting fear take over.

Healing hasn’t meant erasing my fear. It’s meant teaching my nervous system that not every buzz is a threat, and that I can still choose wonder, even when I’m uncomfortable.

Sometimes growth looks exactly like this: one brave step through a field of sunflowers. 🌻

I’m blind & pick plants by its benefits, touch & smell. I heard there’s a plant with lace like leaves 🍃 I found it. It’s a Esqueleto Monstera. I wouldn’t exactly say lace though but it’s full of Swiss cheese design leaves. Our Ai says it’s something else. I guess mislabeling is a thing at greenhouses. I also grabs some ivy today. I hear it’s great for air filtering in the home.

Growth is beautiful. So is remembering where it began. 🌻📖
Pressing this sunflower isn’t about holding onto the past🎨it’s about honoring the journey.

Image description: An open vintage book with a large yellow sunflower carefully placed between its pages to be pressed. The sunflower’s golden petals surround a rich brown center, with a few loose petals scattered nearby. Overlaid text reads, “being a part of something as it grows.” The warm lighting gives the image a nostalgic, peaceful feeling.

We spend so much time chasing what’s next that we forget to appreciate what already bloomed. Today, I’m preserving a little reminder that growth is worth remembering. 🌻📖 VD: Ability Mom puts head of sunflower inside the pages of a thick outdated medical book.

I don’t know what’s got into me. I’ve been all up in the kitchen playing with plants and cooking. Good food too. I can’t do dairy and I don’t like doing two separate meals because of that so I like to make some meals that I can easily split with dairy and non-dairy stuffed peppers so easy to do non-dairy and then dairy portion. YUM!

My pumpkin plant is blossoming through my front porch. The pumpkins are bumpy. I freaking love how bumping they are. Devon thinks it’s from the “different” shaped pumpkins I collected last fall. ☀️👩🏻‍🦯‍➡️
I love how accessible nature is… it truly makes me understand how much it’s us as humans making life more difficult 🌱
