MAN GO - As a beloved backyard mango tree faces removal by city order, a Native Hawaiian family grapples with the impending loss of their patriarch and their connection to “home.” Woven with warmth, humor, and cultural memory, Man Go is a meditative portrait of generational love—and the quiet strength it takes to find new purpose in what remains.

Mahalo to Pacific Islanders in Communication for the support.

e kāhea mai ana ʻo Pālehua e. Been so fortunate to have spent a good amount of time in the beauty and presence of Pālehua, all thanks to the hoas and .s , who have both committed their lives and passion to reawakening this mauna’s cultural significance and opening it up to more of our keiki and families here in Hawaii and abroad to experience and enjoy. It’s been such a treat getting to witness them and their crew continue to transform this space into a meaningful center of learning, bonding, and cultural connection. But don’t take my word for it, go experience it for yourself and book some time at ✨ also grateful to have had this promo commercial running in all summer!

Screenwriter Kamakanioka'āina Paikai shares a bit about how our film draws inspiration not only from Westlake’s poems but from the Westlake-Inspired Soundtracks as well. Back when this film was still just an idea and a dream, there were many nights that ʻĀina, Justyn Ah Chong, and Kaipo Kī'aha would sit together listening to the various tracks on the album and spend hours talking and brainstorming ideas for scenes, characters and visuals based solely on the music that was created. It’s amazing how art inspires art, builds bridges, and evolves through others. It’s humbling that, as an artist (whatever the medium), you never really know just how the things you put your heart into and create will ripple out, inspire, and expand into the hearts and hands of others. Huge MAHALO to the many talented musicians that contributed your voices and skill to the Down on the Sidewalk album. Your art has truly touched each of us and remains a huge inspiration in creating this film. FB fam, this CD is available as a backer reward on our please go check it out and support! (Link Below). 🎶
