Jessica Hays continuing to takeover today, sharing more about The Sun Sets Midafternoon. Writing became central to this work immediately. I used writing as a way to process and understand my experience of these fires and the reactions I was having. Ultimately, this led me to the concept of Solastalgia, which is emotional and existential distress caused by negative environmental change.
Inset into this book are chapters of text that provide insight into the experience of living through a wildfire, and the process of making this work. These chapters are born out of my own journal, chronicling life with fire and climate change affecting the here and now if our lives.

Fall Line Press artist has work up this weekend at two different locations for in NY state. First up , there is an opening / book signing this Friday in Newburgh .newburgh. Events start at 5pm, with cocktails and appetizers and a book signing . Clay will also have photographs up in Rock Tavern , NY. We even made t-shirts ⚡️Come say hi if in the area.

The photography gathering in Arles is the highlight of our year at Fall Line Press. There’s nothing else like it. It’s a chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. A time to discover new work and renew old loves. The days fly by. Off to a good start yesterday setting up our Fall Line Press table for the Art Books Fair - seeing a great Polke exhibition and finishing the day with friends over drinks and dinner. Please hit me up if you’re here - I’d love to see you and hang out. I’ll be at the books fair and out and about all week. (Is Arles really 2500 years old as a city?) Wow!

My name is Liam Kennedy, I’m a navy veteran, journalist, photographer and biker. I have traveled to 47 states on a motorcycle, about 60,000 miles documenting.

Currently posting this from the road where I am photographing my friends wedding at a hot dog wedding chapel in West Virginia. I love this lifestyle and I think that this book will convey that.

Matthew Finley taking over this week. These images are in my new book An Impossibly Normal Life. The book is designed to resemble a vintage photo album to help the viewer imagine a world that never was. A world that is inclusive and supportive of all people.
