The Go-Gos, a vibrant and determined group of women, captured the spirit of 1980s music. Their journey to stardom, however, wasn't without its challenges. After facing rejections from several American labels, their demo tape caught the attention of Miles Copeland, the co-founder of I.R.S. Records (International Record Syndicate).
Signing with I.R.S. Records in 1980 marked a pivotal moment, a validation of their raw talent and infectious energy. It was a deal that felt serendipitous, launching the band toward their destiny. The label, known for its eclectic roster of innovative artists, provided the perfect home for the Go-Gos' unique blend of punk roots and pop sensibilities.
