There’s nothing quite like the 4th of July in Millinocket. The smell of whoopie pies, the sound of music echoing down Penobscot Ave, kids lining the sidewalks with flags in hand, and old friends reconnecting like no time has passed.
The Independence Day Festival returns July 2–9, filled with everything we love about summer in a small town. It all kicks off with alumni gatherings, followed by our hometown parade that celebrates our shared history with this year’s theme: Through the Years, followed by the whoopie pie bake off, live music, fireworks, and more throughout the week.
