Last night we lighted a candle and placed a marigold on our altar to honor the memory of our sweet Cookie (2005 – 2021) a loyal companion who filled our lives with unconditional love, protection, joy, and warmth for 16 wonderful years. 🕯️🐾

According to a Mexican tradition connected to Día de los Mu***os, October 27 is the day when the souls of departed pets are believed to return to visit their families. 🌈

Honoring those that left us physically but will always be with us in our hearts 💕

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Benjamin Gross Jr., son of civil rights activist and former Milpitas Mayor, Ben Gross. He loved cruising his vibrant green neon car through the scenic adventures of Carmel, always seeking new places to eat.

His wisdom was shared over long, meaningful conversations that touched our hearts, and his love poured out generously to so many of us.

His spirit was a beacon of kindness, strength, courage, and joy, leaving a memorable mark on all who knew him. He loved community living room conversations and sharing a meal. He was always in service and looking for ways to help others.

Thank you for your mentorship, wisdom, friendship, and for always being a phone call away. Benjamin, you will always be part of our great city and I will miss you.

May you rest easy and fly high until we meet again 🕊️.

We will cherish his memory and carry his light forward by honoring his legacy now and always ❤️.

A day that changed our nation forever. We honor the lives lost, the courage of first responders, and the resilience of families and communities who carried on with strength.

May we continue to stand united in compassion, hope, and commitment to one another.🇺🇸

The message of ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’ encourages us to change how we talk about su***de. To replace silence and stigma for empathy, compassion and action.

We all have a role to play in staying connected, showing up for those we care about and helping those struggling access the support they need.

Fr. Andy has faithfully served our Diocese as Vicar General, Chancellor, Director of Missions, and previously as Judicial Vicar of the Tribunal. He was also Pastor of Saint Lawrence the Martyr Parish in Santa Clara. Here at Saint Elizabeth, we have been blessed by his leadership, vision, and pastoral care.
